Ways to register:
Online
To register online, you will need one of the following:
- A current Washington state driver license or permit;
- A current Washington state ID card; or,
- The last four digits of your Social Security number.
Register online up to 8 days before an election to participate in that election.
By mail
Download and print a voter registration form in your preferred language.
Complete and sign the form before sending to your county elections office.
To vote in an election, county election officials must receive your form no later than 8 days before that election.
In person
Visit any county elections office to complete a voter registration form.
You can register in person until 8 p.m. on Election Day to participate in that election.

Mailing address (if different from residential address)
Date of birth
Signature
U.S. citizenship
- You must swear that you are a U.S. citizen when you register to vote.
Identification*
- *You can register to vote without ID. However, your ballot will not be counted until you provide a qualifying ID to a county elections office.
Update your registration:
You can also submit an updated voter registration form by mail or in person at a county elections office.
Political parties
Voters in Washington do not choose a party when registering to vote and may vote for any candidate on the ballot.

Fill out a cancellation form and return to your county elections office by mail or email as a high-quality photo/scan.
The state of Washington requires a signature in order to cancel your registration.
