Agnes (Stodden or Stone?) married John Adams, perhaps the marriage recorded on 27 September 1576 between John Adams and Agnes "Stodden" at St George in Dunster, Somerset, England.^[1][2] This record needs additional support as the surname Stodden vs Stone is questioned, and the distance from Barton St David to Dunster is about 40 miles.

Agnes Adams was buried on 15 January 1615/16 at Barton St David, Someset, England,^[3][4] aged ~60.^[5][6]

An Agnes Stone was born in 1551 in England, daughter of John Stone (1528 - 1597) and Agnes (Barton) Stone (1530 - 1597). She was baptised on 24 Sep 1551,^[11] at St James' church, Shere, Surrey, England.^[12]

She is said to have married Richard ADAMS in (1576-1578 in Somersetshire, England, but husband John didn’t die until 1604. This makes it possible that her last name is not STONE, as she must be a different Agnes that married Richard. It is also apparent that the dates for Richard and John are being mixed together. Richard ADAMS, son of Henry Adams and Rose,^{[citation needed]} was born in 1552 in Barton, St. David, Somerset, England. He was christened on 7 Aug 1595 in Barton, St David, Somerset, England. He died on 19 Mar 1604 in Barton, St. David, Somerset, England. He was buried on 22 Mar 1603 in Barton, St David, Somerset, England. He married Agnes STONE in 1578 in Somersetshire, England. He married Margaret ARMAGER.
