Peterâs musical career began in the late sixties, when he created five âpsychedelic folkâ albums with his friend John Ferdinando. He joined the Workshop in 1974, and in the following year began work on incidental music for the Doctor Who television series, moving on to complete a highly-successful new realisation of its theme tune in 1980.
He also produced the Workshop album Through a Glass Darkly in 1978 and the very popular âGreenwich Chorusâ, created for the documentary The Body in Question, along with a vast amount of other music, covering all genres of radio and television. This included theme tunes for The Machine that Changed the World, also known as The Dream Machine, The Shock of the New and Look and Read shows, the latter for BBC Schools.
