Muffin, a cheerful 8-year-old dog, was brought to CGS Hospital in a tetraplegic condition—unable to move any of her four limbs. Diagnostic imaging confirmed cervical intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), a severe condition that compresses the spinal cord. Her family was heartbroken, fearing she might never walk again.
But Muffin’s story took a turn for the better. Under the dedicated care of the veterinary physiotherapist Dr. Simran and the team, she began an intensive and compassionate rehabilitation journey. Her treatment protocol included passive range-of-motion exercises, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, laser therapy, proprioceptive, weight-bearing, balance and co-ordination exercises, agility training and hydrotherapy.
Slowly but surely, Muffin started regaining movement—first flickers in her limbs, then attempts to stand, and eventually, joyous steps. Months of persistence, patience, and teamwork transformed what once seemed impossible into reality. Today, Muffin not only walks but runs with enthusiasm, celebrating her 8th birthday surrounded by her family and caregivers. Her recovery is a beautiful reminder of what love, science, and physiotherapy can achieve together.
At CGS Veterinary Hospital, we believe every patient—no matter how small or severely injured—deserves a chance to heal, move, and live pain-free. Because sometimes, the greatest miracles come on four legs.
