Fort romain du 2e siècle, en forme de carte à jouer, au bord de la Tyne, constituant l'extrémité est du mur d'Hadrien. Ses vestiges, toujours fouillés, sont en partie traversés par une rue de Wallsend, l'actuelle Segedunum, le 'vicus' attenant le fort
