IVM PLUGIN FINDDATA.EXE

finddata.exe DataFile booleantests selectioncolumns selectionvalues returncolumns returncolumnnames

Input:
DataFile - The name of the file containing comma delimited Value,Data list.
booleantests - the list of bolean tests to be applied to the selection columns. Defaults to and
		   	  example and,or
selectioncolumns - the list of columns to be tested. Example 1,2
selectionvalues - The list of values to be tested against the above selectioncolumns
returncolumns	- list of columns to be returned. Example 4
returncolumnnames	- the list of variable names for the data in the returned columns

Example
	finddata fred.csv "and,or" "1,2,3" "value1,value2,value3" "5,6" "address,city"
	will test for all rows
		column 1 is CSV file = value1 and column 2 = value2 or column 3 = value3
	will return if all tests match
		address=valueincol5&city=valueincol6&result=found
	otherwise
		result=fail

If more than one line matches the values then the following will be returned
	address=valueincol5&city=valueincol6&result=found&address2=valueincol5&city2=valueincol6&result2=found
	where
	address, city are the values for the first found line
	address2, city2 are the values for the second found line
	similary address3 for line 3 and so on.
	result=found is returned for the first line found
	result2=found is returned for the secons line found, and so on.

In the 'Run Exe or IVM Plugin' dialogue in IVM the data is input as
	Line 1 - CSV File name
	Line 2 - boolean tests (and,or)
	Line 3 - list of columns - for example 1,3,6 - numerical order is unimportant.
	Line 4 - list of values to test - For example %name%,%job%, rec1. Here the value rec1 is a constant value and the others are input variables from a previous OGM step.
	Line 5 - list of column to report back - For example 4
	Line 6 - list of returned variables, For example address (will return %address%. Again cannot be split onto separate lines.

Notes:
	the first column in line 3 has the first value in line 4 and so on. This is independent of the column numbers or their order.
	the number of selection columns must match the number of selection values. An error in the result varaible is returned if this is not so.
	the number of returned columns must also match the number of returned column variables. Similarly a error is returned.
	if you do not specify enough boolean tests the remaining ones will default to AND. Excess booleans are ignored.
	the boolean tests (and,or) are evaluated from left to right.
	the lists (lines 2+) cannot be split across more than one line.
	beware of system variables like %date% and %time%. Try using %retdate% or %col5date% to avoid conflicting with these.

-----

This is a plugin for the IVM Telephone Voice Attendant which can be downloaded at www.nch.com.au/ivm.

FINDDATA.EXE returns information from a simple database stored as a comma delimited list. This can be used to return information to a caller based on what they dial in.

Example applications include returning account balances based on customer account number, returning student results based on entered student number or anything else where a caller enters a number which then can be used return information.

The data must be contained in a comma delimited list containig 1 or more fields. You can create comma delimited lists using any test editor (eg. Notepad). Alternatively most databases will export data in the comma-delimited-list format.
