New York-based composer and pianist Timo Andres (USA, 1985) took inspiration
from both atmospheric rock music and romantic classical music for compositions such as
the string quartet Strong Language (2015),
the symphonic poem Everything Happens So Much (2016),
the piano concerto The Blind Banister (2016),
the two-piano concerto Steady Hand (2017),
the cello concerto Upstate Obscura (2017),
and the many pieces for solo piano (How Can I Live in Your World of Ideas, Old Ground, Wise Words, etc).
Timo Andres collaborated with Sufjan Stevens for the ballet score The Decalogue (2019).
