Italian cellist Pietro Grossi pioneered electronic and computer music in
Firenze and Pisa. He
compiled very brief sound effects on Electronic Soundtracks (1966) and composed a Computer Concerto (1967) on a
General Electric GE-115 computer (originally some of this music was on a 45-RPM record handed by Olivetti to its employees as a Christmas gift).
He also created multimedia installations and the Internet opera NetOper@ (1997).
