The Serbian director Srdan Karanovic directed Drustvena Igra/ Social Games (1972), the philosophical Miris Poljskog Cveca/ Fragrance of Wild Flowers (1977), scripted with Rajko Grlic and starring Ljuba Tadic, Petrijin Venae/ Petrija�s Wreath (1980), another collaboration with Grlic, a historical saga set in a mining community, the film that launched the career of actress Mirjana Karanovic, the romantic comedy Nesto Izmedju/ Something in Between (1982), Jagode u Grlu/ A Throatful of Strawberries (1985), a new collaboration with Grlic, about the reunion of four former students, all born in 1945 a sort of Yugoslav version of Ettore Scola's C'Eravamo tanto Amati/ We All Loved Each Other So Much, Za Sada Bez Dobrog Naslova/ A Film with No Name (1989), about the conflict between Serbs and Kosovars, the melodrama Virgina (1991), set in the 19th century.
