Fred Niblo (born Frederick Liedtke in 1874)
Fred Niblo He directed Douglas Fairbanks in The Mark of Zorro (1920) and The Three Musketeers (1921). He directed Rudolph Valentino in Blood and Sand (1922). The epic Ben-Hur (1925), an adaptation of Lew Wallace's 1880 novel "Ben-Hur" and starring Ramon Novarro, was one of the blockbusters of the era. He directed Norma Talmadge in Camille (1926). He directed Greta Garbo in The Temptress (1926) and The Mysterious Lady (1928). He directed Lillian Gish in The Enemy (1927).
