George Pal
(born Gyorgy Pal Marczincsak in Hungary in 1908) emerged with the
stop-motion animated film series Puppetoons. He produced
the science-fiction movies
When Worlds Collide (1951) and The War of the Worlds (1953),
He personally directed The Time Machine (1960), adapting Wells' novel.
