Edie Brickell
emerged at the end of the 1980s as a
typical hippie of Dalla's "Deep Ellum", a songwriter capable of reenact the
glory of Rickie Lee Jones on
Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars (Geffen, 1988) with songs such as
What I Am.
After Ghost Of A Dog (Geffen, 1990),
whose backing band steals the show from the
singer, Brickell, helped by new husband Paul Simon, launched a truly solo
career with Picture Perfect Morning (Geffen, 1994), an album of
sophisticated rhythm and blues (Lost In The Moment).
