Running With Scissors is a Seattle band that can create perfect melodic rock gems and arrange them in dozen different ways. Variety is actually the problem with their self-released debut album, Running With Scissors (1993). Single Bullet Theory (Procession, 1994) is a more balanced and focused effort, with Asleep, Single Bullet Theory, Kings And Queens and Sorry recycling stereotypes from the 1960's and 1970's and wielding them in a unique style. The band bears similarities with neo-glams Chainsaw Kittens and occasionally with Smashing Pumpkins.

Ordinary Leper (Instant, 1995) is another eclectic effort, although they may be trying too hard to prove their skills.
