London's
Colourbox (i.e. brothers Martyn and Steven Young) revitalized the British
soul ballads with the
singles Breakdown (1982),
Say You (1984) and
The Moon Is Blue (1985).
Meanwhile, the EP Colourbox (1983) had witnessed their first experiments
with sampling and scratching.
They fused with A.R. Kane to become M/A/R/R/S and released the groundbreaking
electronic dance single Pump Up the Volume.
Colourbox (2012) is a career retrospective.
