The Hungry Ghosts are another Australian ensemble that plays instrumental
music centered around violin and guitar, just like the
Dirty Three.
They debuted with the EP Hungry Wolf (Narwhal, 1997).
However, Alone Alone (Smells Like, 2000) sounds a lot more like
Calexico and especially
Scenic, desert-rock for imaginary
soundtracks.
