Cephalic Carnage, formed in 1992 in Colorado, perfected a labyrinthine sound on their third album Lucid Interval (2002) that blended metalcore, stoner-rock, jazzcore and death-metal.
Their debut album had been Conforming to Abnormality (Headfucker, 1998).
Their fourth album Anomalies (2005) was even more technical.
Mislead By Certainty (Relapse, 2010) was an exercise in continuously
changing the rules of the game, spanning a wide range of styles, and sometimes
within the same song (the 12-minute Repangaea).
