Los Angeles' punk-folk band Flogging Molly, led by Irish vocalist Dave King, appropriated the idea of the Dropkick Murphys (who had taken it from the Pogues) and detonated Irish music with high-energy guitars and vocal rage on Swagger (2000) and Drunken Lullabies (2002). They introduced political satire in Within a Mile of Home (2004), that included Seven Deadly Sins. After a four-year hiatus they returned with the more mature Float (2008), containing Lightning Storm and Man With No Country, and Speed of Darkness (2011) continued the slide into wise old men of punk-folk.
