Frown, a project by guitarists Ed Sullivan and Greg Chapman and drummer Daneil Mazone, performed live around Providence (Rhode Island) and recorded only one mini-album, Wallghost (Stateless, 2000), which contains only one track, a nineteen-minute cacophonous jam recorded live in 1995. To be filed next to the most extreme Japanese noise, this track defies harmony and common sense by erecting walls and walls of guitar distortion. The terrifying malestrom reaches truly catastrophic proportions and recalls both Velvet Underground's Sister Ray and Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music
