British combo McLusky, fronted by Andrew Falkous, debuted in the vein of the Sex Pistols' sneering punk-rock. Both My Pain And Sadness Is More Sad And Painful Than Yours (Fuzzbox, 2000) and the better produced Do Dallas (Too Pure, 2002) contain explosive rants against everything and everybody (Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues, on the latter, is emblematic), except that they also admit moments of relative quiet. The schizophrenia of the band got worse on The Difference Between Me and You Is That I'm Not on Fire (Too Pure, 2004), that alternates between seismic tracks and yawn-inducing tracks. Perhaps the warmer (and moderately radio-friendly) She Will Only Bring You Happiness represents the synthesis of their two personas, and the future direction of the band.

Andrew Falkous later formed Future Of The Left that debuted with Curses (2007) in a demented melodic new-wave vein with spirited keyboards and psychotic refrains. Future Of The Left's second album Travels With Myself And Another (2009) was a more powerful and confrontational musical rant, relying on guitars instead of keyboards (Arming Eritrea, Throwing Bricks at Trains, Stand by Your Manatee).
