Mudvayne, formed in Illinois in 1996, bridged the innovations of post-metal
with the mainstream sound of "nu-metal" on
L.D. 50 (2000) and The End of All Things To Come (2002).
The latter was musically superior, appropriating styles that were developed
by prog-metal to build up maximum tension.
Lost And Found (Sony, 2005),
The New Game (2005) and Mudvayne (2009)
sounded like self-parody: they had neither
the songs nor the strength to impress anyone, let alone Mudvayne's fans.
