Damien Rice was the most commercially successful of the Irish singer-songwriters
of the 2000s. His albums O (2002) and 9 (2006) spawned several
singles. His songs tend to be predictable and derivative, although neoclassical
orchestral arrangements and intimate touching phrasing elevate O
above the average.
