A Classic Education,
fronted by Canadian-born vocalist Jonathan Clancy,
introduced their catchy folk-rock with echoes of the psychedelic Sixties on
the EP Hey There Stranger (2010), featuring the
naive and hypnotic Gone to Sea and especially the
sprightly What My Life Could Have Been, imbued with the spirit of the 1980s. The full-length
Call It Blazing (2011) indulges in midtempo ballads that mostly prove
they didn't have enough material to match the charming retro nugget
Baby It's Fine.
