Bully

Nashville's Bully, fronted by vocalist Alicia Bognanno (vocals) and guitarist Clayton Parker, harked back to the college-rock of the 1980s and 1990s on Feels Like (2015) with the punk-ish I Remember, the riot-grrrls inspired Six , and the Nirvana-influenced grunge-pop of Trying and Trash.

Losing (Sub Pop, 2017) is an uninspired work that should have been just a three-song EP, and even that would have been an inferior work because it's hard to salvage anything past the trivial punk-pop of Feels Like.

By the time Sugaregg (2020) was released, Bully had become Bognanno's solo project and found again some of the gritty angst of the debut. Hence the screamed and noisy Add it on and Where to Start, but perhaps the best vehicle for her mood is the slightly hypnotic power-ballad What i Wanted. The average quality is still pretty low, though.
