Five Finger Death Punch, formed in Las Vegas by
vocalist Ivan Moody and guitarist Zoltan Bathory,
became the best-selling heavy-metal band of their time via the lame
pop-metal of
The Way of the Fist (2007), with the classic triptych of
The Bleeding (perhaps their best song), The Way Of The Fist and Salvation plus White Knuckles and
Never Enough,
War Is the Answer (2009), that contained several of their
signature songs
(Far from Home,
War is the Answer,
My Own Hell,
Hard to See),
and American Capitalist (2011), that contains
Under And Over It,
The Tragic Truth and
The Pride,
and
Remember Everything.
Even more successful was the mid-tempo single Coming Down (2012),
the prelude to
The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 1 (2013),
with
their biggest single, Wrong Side of Heaven,
Lift Me Up and
Burn Motherfucker,
and
The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 2 (2013),
possibly their worst album, despite Battle Born.
Then came albums that were routine repetitions:
Got Your Six (2015), with Jekyll And Hyde, and
And Justice for None (2018), another contender for the title of worst
album of their career.
A Decade of Destruction (2017) is an anthology and probably the only
album worth listening to.
