Lumenlab, the project of Mexican electronic musician Diego Martinez,
debuted with Comiendo Algodon En La Pista De Baile (Abolipop, 2004)
and Shhh (2009),
followed
by a collaboration with noise-meister KK Null,
Terra Incognita (2013), that also features his brother Israel Martinez.
They Are Killing Me (Aagoo, 2016) was a better manifestation of his
aesthetic, from the demonic and chaotic digital hardcore of
Granola (9:01) to the
abrasive, jazzy and clownish Sin Gobierno (8:00).
Each is a chaotic evolving narrative, which often dead-ends at the opposite end of where it had started. Hence the
expressionistic-to-Dada metamorphosis of Force (8:44) and
the
gothic-to-jovial metamorphosis of Paraiso (10:31).
