Amber Mark

Amber Mark, the daughter of a Jamaican father and a German mother, followed her mother to Germany, India and several US cities before settling in New York. After the lively single Space (2016), she recorded the EPs 3:33am (2017), a sort of requiem for her late mother in a haunting dance-pop style, notably the funky Can You Hear Me and the wordless drum-less quasi-horror Journey into the Unknown, and Conexão (2018), a more conventional collection that includes Love Me Right. The 17-song Three Dimensions Deep (2022), mostly produced by Julian Bunetta (composer and producer for One Direction), is an album of neo-soul that pays tribute to three generations of soul divas: Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae and FKA Twigs. The sleek and sensual What It Is, the funky Foreign Things and the spiritual Cosmic cover a lot of ground for this genre.
