Maggie Rogers

Maryland's singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers debuted in an avant-folk style on The Echo (2012), with the trotting Embers and the country elegy Creatures contrasting with Wolves, heavily arranged with strings, and Satellite, almost a neoclassical piece for piano and strings. Blood Ballet (2014) began to experiment with synthesizers and computers in songs like Drift. That was the secret to the success of the EP Now That the Light Is Fading (2017), which contains the song that made her famous, Alaska. Heard It in a Past Life (2019) was a collection of conventional synth-pop (Light On is the single), and Surrender (2022), recorded after graduating in Boston with a master�s degree in religion, was only a marginal improvement (That's Where I Am is the single).
