Australia's Royal Headache played energetic and catchy songs on
Royal Headache (2011), mostly
punk-pop that is not savage at all (like Surprise and Back and Forth), even bordering on Merseybeat of the 1960s (Down the Lane, the melodic peak).
As a matter of fact, the most visceral songs
(Psychotic Episode , Girls and Honey Joy) sound more like
River-era Bruce Springsteen than
punk-rock.
That passionate shouted melodic garage-rock dominates
High (What's Your Rupture, 2015), but only Garbage fires up.
Despite his unquestionable talent, vocalist Tim "Shogun" Wall never managed
to find an adequate band.
