Los Angeles' Shrine, fronted by vocalist and guitarist Josh Landau,
packed
Detroit-style garage punk into
Primitive Blast (Tee Pee, 2012).
Primitive Blast is
an MC5 ripoff (Kick Out the Jams), but a great one.
The musical violence of
Zipper Tripper and the six-minute Deep River (Livin' to Die)
is largely uncontrolled like the masters would have liked it.
