Maryland's prolific rapper Chase Cauthen, gifted with an unusual
baritone growl, originally released material
under
the moniker MacXVII, starting with
the seven-song EP Vulgarism (2013) and the EPs
MuddyMac (2014),
Havoc (2014) and
Mackovich (2014). MacXVII then released the mixtapes
Le Menace (2014),
Weird Kid (2014),
Lord Mackovich (2014),
Frigid (2015),
Skin Me Please (2015) and
Walking Labyrinth (2015).
At this point he changed name, became Syringe and founded
the multimedia collective of rappers, producers and visual artists
WeirdCLVN (later renamed Weird Melodicians and Anti-World).
Syringe debuted with the EPs
Nextel Ringe (2015),
Wretched (2015) and
Disstress (2015).
The EP A Leaking Head (2015) launched a self-standing series.
He better documented his depression on the mixtapes
Sound of Irritation (2015),
Shuv These Colors Up Your Anus (2015),
Rinjago (2016),
Deathhead (2016),
Anti-World (2016), with Pissing Off and Piss on the Kitchen Floor,
the EP Stay Clear From this Fool (2016),
Hellhorse (2016), perhaps the best of the series, despite the fact that
most songs are miniatures (with two notable exceptions, one of which is the
standout, Shoot the Party),
Evil Nigga (2017) and Fatigued Moe (2017), which is actually the third
"Leaking Head" tape.
His convoluted brainy productions, his moribund delivery and his macabre lyrics (sometimes bordering on horrorcore) created a legend even without an official album.
After spending some time in a mental hospital,
he changed name to Sybyr with
Netgeers (2017) and started flooding the Internet with mixtapes under
that moniker.
