Spanish producer John Talabot stormed the dormant scene of techno with
the Afro-Caribbean polyrhythmic single Sunshine (2009).
However,
fIN (Permanent Vacation, 2012)
was a disappointing sequence of lame dancefloor
grooves in a lightweight and disposable disco-soul style, with
Depak Ine being a bad copy of his hit (much slower and heavier rhythm,
too much doodling of ambient electronica before the
Enigma-style wordless vocals intone
the leitmotiv). It almost sounded like somebody trying to downplay and
straighten his psychedelic house music.
