This DVD-R edition has been mastered from a good 16mm reduction print that has a very-good range of balanced greytones and good image detail. The source material is moderately scuffed, with dust, speckling, schmutz, filmbase scuffing, and other print flaws.
The film is accompanied by a soundtrack roughly cobbled-together from preexisting low-fidelity music recordings. We are getting a little impatient with hearing some of the same recordings over and over in these Grapevine soundtracks.
Supplemental material is limited to a Snub Pollard comedy short, Strictly Modern (1922).
For now, this is our recommended home video edition of the film.
