Finally putting up the info for our new grandbaby!

Some pictures from our campout

Our annual labor day camping trip for the
Byron Tolman Knighton family!

Craft time.

We brought the jazzy for Chace and it made a huge difference for him to get through all the gravel and inclines. He just confuses it with a 4x4 sometimes :)

The Ladies

The Fellas (Gene had to leave early for work, but he had been there before we did pictures)

Trinitie's getting so big and she's such a beautiful girl!
And she's going to be a big sister in the spring YAY!

My parents and siblings - at our best.

Me, Sami, Savanna

Byron actually cracked a smile in one picture!

We had tons of fun and we love going camping with our family :)

Back To School

We just wanted to let everyone know that on Monday Chace will be going back to school. He will be going a little each day to begin with, so that we can all ease back into it. The principle has shown him the best ways for him to get around the school, where the bathroom is, the elevator... Hopefully all goes well and he is able to get back into a great routine soon. Wish him luck!

This is just a silly picture Karyn took of us one day. I had just carried Chace in from the van and he reached up and hugged my neck so I sat down and grabbed a blanket and enjoyed the moment! He's still my baby boy :)

Chace Update

Chace had 2 doctor appointments this week and they went really well.  Tuesday we met for a general check-up and everything is going well.  Wednesday we met with a neuro-surgeon and got some great news.  Chace doesn't have to wear his brace anymore!  We know that it was a necessary part of his recovery, but the last few weeks it seems like it's just been in the way.  He's always wiggling around inside of it and showering and sleeping are 100 times easier without it.  So think goodness the x-rays showed his neck bones healed well.  Now he needs to really work on his balance in rehab, he's been well supported by the brace up until now, but it will take his effort now to balance himself in his wheelchair.

Tuesday night we met up with some family for dinner and had a great time.

Great News!

We are adding to our family!

Byron and Courtney will be getting married on Valentine's Day and we're so excited.  Courtney and Trinitie have already been like a part of our family, we love them a lot.

We also got a puppy, Button, and are enjoying her as a part of our family as well.

And Chace has 2 doctor appointments coming next week so we will find out if he can be finished with the neck brace.  I will let you know how the appointments go when we get back.

Home!

We are home now and things are going pretty well.  There were many generous people who have been preparing our house for our arrival.   Chace's room is almost done, there are new wood floors so he can wheel around great, he's also got a new bed (plus much more!).
Christmas was great, thanks to the family friends and neighbors who made it possible.  There were many gifts for our family, some were not even labeled, so we appreciate the generosity of so many people.  We also had a beautiful tree and decorations.
Chace is so happy to be home, he laughs at things that he's missed and says he missed so much!  We're glad to be home, and are glad we could celebrate Christmas together here.  There's still a lot of adjustment ahead, but we know we'll get there.
Thanks again to all of your love, support, and generosity through these times, we love you all.

Pictures and Update

Chace got a haircut today.

Here's the story:  when we were trying to get Chace to eat more, this nurse (one of our favorites :) told Chace he didn't think he could eat all of his food by 11 o'clock, and bet him that if he did, he would wear a diaper around for an hour.  Well, there it is:

We have great news: Chace has been given an official discharge date from the hospital!  And it's next Tues., the 23rd, which will be here before we know it.  He's been doing so great since the trache and feeding tube were removed, his recovery truly has been amazing.  They do want him to wear the neck brace for about another month, just to be sure.  Our house has been being modified, and is still a bit torn up, but should be near ready when we come home.

So here are some pictures to get caught up:

Time for church, do you like Chace's church attire?

Leaving for his first excursion out of the hospital, to Walmart.

The second outing was to uncle Baron's house and Chace made himself at home.

New BYU jersey.

This dog came to visit a while ago, look at the smile on Chace's face!

Uncle Baron dressed as Santa Thanksgiving weekend.

It's hard to believe so much has happened in the last 7 weeks.  Chace has made so much progress and his attitude has really been great.  Thanks for your continued support, and pray for us that the transition to home will be a smooth one.
