Haiku:
Look beyond darkness,
Kaleidoscope of bright dawn
Eager to embrace.
Senryu:
I am mesmerised—
Grandeur of nature reveals,
Journey was worth it.

For this prompt, write a poem that gives an abstract idea a personality, a voice, and a life of its own.
Choose something we cannot physically touch: Destiny, Time, Hope, Justice, Fear, Memory, Regret, Silence, Truth or any other abstract concept that interests you.
Destiny
Enough is enough, my friend.
Make me grateful by not chasing your horoscope.
Stop making me a scapegoat for your mishaps.
"You take the credit when you win,
but you hand me the bill when you lose."
No matter how much you blame your stars,
your own actions shape—or unshape—your path.
"Learn to take responsibility," thus my destiny cajoles.

Cumulus Clouds- Haiku
Cumulus clouds
Dark waves of various colors
Sky prepares to weep
Weather Apps- Senryu
Dark cumulus clouds
Still unsure of heavy rains
We check weather apps

Steadfastness endures;
whether at sunrise or sunset—
beauty remains.

Wave The Magic Wand
Ah! That ticklish touch of a butterfly,
a fleeting brush, and then—swiftly, take flight;
enough to bring a skeleton to come alive.
Seems some magic is about to unfold;
the stage is fully set;
even withered roses are smiling.
Before the candle flickers out,
O Time! wave your magic wand—
set me free from this confinement!
Before this spell is broken.

Ego or Love
we are not on talking terms,
though we can’t keep it for long.
we are both simply waiting;
who will first break the ice.
we are thinking of a way—
where ego bows out, love wins
Write a story, poem, or reflection where the act of giving thanks is tied to resilience, protest, or moral strength. Explore the paradox of refusing to be grateful to the ungrateful: those who exploit, silence, or dismiss others. Instead, celebrate gratitude as a weapon of dignity—thankfulness for the voices that rise, the hands that resist, and the hearts that refuse to bow. How does gratitude transform when it becomes an act of defiance?”
Langston Hughes says,
“That all these walls oppression builds
Will have to go!
I want freedom,
Just as you.”Maya Angelou in “Still I Rise.”
“You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.”
You can frame it in different directions:
You are free to take it in any other direction.
Politeness is a virtue,
but not when gratitude is designed to keep us small.
When we refuse to thank those who step on our spirits,
we draw a sacred line in the sand.
Our silence toward them is not coldness—it is the first roar of our freedom.
I would rather:
I offer my deepest gratitude to the hands that resist,
the voices that speak the truth aloud,
and the hearts that simply refuse to bow.
My thankfulness belongs entirely to the unity of those who walk the difficult path together.
This is gratitude transformed—it is no longer a polite gesture, but a beautiful act of defiance.
When my daughter was 2 years old, we noticed the only way she would play with anything, and everything was to line them up …no matter what she had, cars, toys, shoes…. They all would fall in the same line and the game would end. She never used to play like other kids…this was when we started noticing other things and then came to know about her Autism…we were told most autistic kids don’t or can’t pretend to play….you know how we would take a comb or a pencil box and act as if it were a phone or a microphone and talk…
When we are comfortable with each other,
not only in communication but also in silence,
then we can become true friends.
Tree is sending positive vibes.
We both enjoy solitude.
Me and my best friend
Tree.
We may not notice
Nature evolves constantly
