OMSI

Today we played at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. What a fun place!! There were a ton of exhibits with lots of places to play and explore!

Here are some of the highlights ...

Andy helped Eden play with water and learn how to get water from the source to a house.

But as always, he was pretty happy just hanging out in his stroller! (actually his favorite thing was a house that shakes like an earthquake ... I took him in there in his stroller and he couldn't stop laughing!)

We had a super fun day! We were at the museum for about 5 hours or so ... my kids were very exhausted after! :)

Caleb's First "Real" Food

Today we decided to let Caleb try a bite of real food!! Banana was what we decided on!

Here he is about to get the first bite.

I think he smiled this one time during his banana adventure ... the rest of the time he was shaking his head no!

He kept spitting the banana out ... I guess I should have taken that as a hint and not kept trying to give it to him!!

Pretty much, this last picture shows Caleb's overall opinion of the banana ... I imagine he's thinking, "Man, I can't get that taste out of my mouth."

So, for now ... we're sticking with milk! We'll try again in a month or two!!

Portland Children's Museum

Today we went to the Portland Children's Museum. I LOVE places like this that are geared towards kids playing and having hands on learning! I think admission is a little over priced, but it was a lot of fun for the kids ... so I guess it was worth it!

I am not sure why when I take pictures sometimes one of the girls looks significantly shorter ... I swear they are pretty close in height!! (Eden must be slouching in this one!!)

I was happy to see that Abigail knew what this was, even though it wasn't cordless and didn't fit in her pocket. (or have a keyboard!)

On our way out, we stopped at this statue ... can't believe that I didn't notice it on the way in!

We had so much fun today! Originally, we were going to go to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), but when we got there, it was closed! This was a great alternative! We'll be going to OMSI tomorrow. This Oregon trip has been pretty fun and eventful so far!

The Beach!!

50 degrees and windy? Doesn't scare us away from the beach! We can't go to Oregon without making a trip out to the coast! Before the girls got into actually playing around, I made them sit and take some pictures with Caleb. This is by far my favorite one. It happens to be the last one I took as well. It seems like it works that way, I take pictures until I get one that I LOVE, then we can be done! (by the way, I may just have the cutest kids EVER!!)

After the pictures, we bundled Caleb up in blankets and threw a hat on him to help keep the wind off his bald little head. He was a good sport! He didn't really cry at all the whole time we were there, even though it was pretty cold!

I love this picture! The girls spent a lot of time standing in the water enjoying the breeze.

One of the last pictures I took ... I snapped it right as Abigail fell!! Eden fell right after this. They were cold and done and not in the mood for pictures after that!!

The poor girls were shivering the whole way back to the car! Luckily, I learned my lesson last year and brought them each a change of clothes, so they got dry and warm as soon as we made it back to the van! Eden said that she'd never go to the beach again ... I think she'll change her mind!

Multnomah Falls

Last July when we were in Oregon, we went to Multnomah Falls. We hiked all the way up to the top (not an easy feat with 2 five year olds and a pregnant lady! :) I snapped this picture with my phone on the way back to the car (my camera was broken by the end of the hike ... it had gotten sand in it at the beach over the weekend)

This morning as we drove into the Portland area, we decided to stop again at Multnomah Falls since it's right off of the freeway.

This is as high up as we went! We decided that the hike to the top, while good exercise, is not worth it with 3 little kids! :)

Can you see the slug? When the girls saw this bad boy, they remembered last year when Aunt Tiffany accidentally stepped on one, we took the picture in her honor! :)

Walking back to the car, we passed this Union Pacific sign, pretty cool!

It was the perfect stop after a night of driving from Utah to Oregon!! Long enough to get some fresh air and stretch out legs (and take some cute pictures), but short enough to not wear us out even more!!!

I just realized that Caleb's head is facing the same direction in every picture ... he must think he knows which is his "good side." :)

5 Months Old

This guy is growing up too fast! Caleb hit his 5 month birthday.

He has recently started hanging out in his jumper, which he LOVES. (I think the face in this picture is a result of Eden putting that Peter Pan hat on his head!)

Caleb is SUCH a happy baby! He hardly ever cries, when he does, it's usually because there is something physically wrong.

Recently, he started giving me "kisses." I'll say, "Kisses for Mama?" and make a kissing sound and he opens his mouth and starts sucking on my cheek. (He must think that's what I am doing when I kiss his cheek!)

Caleb reaches for EVERYTHING. He wants to explore anything and everything. He gets so excited when we give him an empty water bottle to squoosh and squeeze. He loves listening to the sound it makes. Any toy that he can fit in his mouth is a winner in his book! :) Oh, and he loves to look at books too. (and chew on them)

He is so fascinated by electronics. Any time I pull a phone, camera or camcorder out, he stops and watches. Sometimes it's hard to get a picture or video of him because as soon as he sees the electronics, he stops the cute thing that he's doing and stares at the camera!!

Caleb has gotten really good at rolling over. He doesn't get put down very often, so it's impressive that he's gotten so good at it! :)

He loves to sit in his "Bumbo" chair ... but almost every time that he sits in it, he poops. (which results in a nice surprise all over his back!) I am thinking that he thinks it's a toilet ... so maybe potty training will be easy?!?!

Caleb loves his big sisters and almost always smiles and laughs when they are around. I have given up on feeding him or getting any attention from him if they are in the room.

Caleb still sucks his thumb, but it mostly only happens when he's getting hungry. As soon as I sit down to feed him, he gets a big grin on his face ... the kid likes to eat! :) (as you can tell!)

We are so happy to have this little guy around! He is such a sweet heart and always keeps us laughing with his giggles and love. Happy 5 Month Birthday Caleb! :) Thanks for being so much fun!!

Swimming In April

So my girls have found a chance to swim 3 times this week!! I think they are nuts ... the water is FREEZING!!!! But, they love it!!

Eden just jumped right in and got soaked!!
