Christmas Day

This year we got to spend Christmas Day with my family and we had wonderful, delicious, and relaxing time!

Mmmmm....delicious Christmas Eve dinner.

Thanks Mom! I love my new watch!

Gramma got Asher his very own pillow, and boy does he love it. He sleeps with it every night and carries it around with his blankies.

This year I surprised Aaron with some tickets for a SLU vs. Xavier Basketball game.

A very cheesy smile:)

Gramma Time

Family Pics with the Picture People

This year all Sherrie wanted for Christmas was a perfect family photo. That doesn't sound like too much to ask for until you try it and you take hundreds of photos and in every single one somebody blinks, looks away or looks goofy, so this time around we went to the Picture People to see if they could work their magic. With a little post-editing, our final product turned out pretty good I must say.

...waiting for our appointment.

Handsome brothers.

A very tired Asher with a sympathetic Papa.

The final product. Whew!

Christmas with the Chretien-Robinsons

We had such a fun time! In the morning, we enjoyed the beautiful Christmas program at church. When we got home, we had a fabulous Christmas dinner and it was so nice to have everybody together. Hats off to Sherrie because I never know how she prepares so much delicious food for such a large family! Also, we were spoiled with so many beautiful presents that we love! Thank you! Asher loves his toys and he plays "cars" almost everyday and every time he wears the Timberland jacket that Paul got him, Asher says, "Papa". It is so cute!

White trash family!

So pretty much the hardest thing about our Christmas break was the fact that it was the longest that I have ever been away from Aaron. We flew to Washington for a weekend and then stayed in Cali for a full week before Aaron was able to come out. It was great that Asher and I got more bonding time with family and Aaron did extremely well on his Medical School finals (He got Honors in both classes) but it was very difficult to be apart, so we were very happy to pick up Aaron at the airport on Saturday night.

Now you must know that Aaron hasn't cut his hair since we left Cali in July, so he's been looking very scruffy, but he has been planning his arrival for months. First he planned to cut his long hair into a mullet, but ended up just going for the ponytail and handle bar mustache. What's with men and creative facial hair? It is like Aaron's favorite thing to do: try to find anyway he can to embarrass me! I was hoping to outdo him by showing up in my mom's 80's leather jacket and high heels, etc., but I guess I just didn't have the guts to go all the way, because I just wasn't embarrassing enough! But here is the proof that I tried...

I think it passes the test!

This means war!

Daredevils start out young

For anybody who didn't recognize him...yes! that is my little bro, Austin, except that he is not little anymore. He is very tall and very buff, so we try to stay on his good side! hehe:)

Jackson's B-ball Game

Asher and I were so excited that got to visit Washington State for the first time to attend Jamie's wedding. Spokane was beautiful and cold. They had just received a fresh layer of snow when we arrived in town. For our first evening, we got to see Jackson play basketball. We were sad that they lost but had a great time. Asher's favorite sport is basketball and he loved to cheer while hangin' out with Grandma and Grandpa King.

"A Tiny Piece of Me" Published on Blurb

Hey Everybody! I just wanted you to know that we found an easy way to self-publish a book that I designed for my mother in law, Sherrie Chretien. It is a beautiful book designed to help a child deal with a loss of a parent. Sherrie wrote the song first and then had the vision to change it into a childrens' book. My friend Melissa Esplin created the beautiful illustrations with oil paint and I laid out and designed the book. Please check it out HERE, and click on book preview in the left nav if you want to see some of the inside spreads.

Ward Christmas Party

For our ward party this year, we had a soup cook off and a talent show. It was great fun. I reluctantly made Potato Soup (Melissa Bowers' recipe) at my husbands request and to my suprise and chagrin, I won first place. I thought that perhaps there was a mixup. I have never won anything like that...especially in a cooking category, so that was a boost for my self-esteem! Asher loved trying all the different soups and his favorite talent act was Aaron McCallister with his "Lion Tamer" whip (I'm not really sure what to call it). It made such a loud noise that it had Asher captivated. Now I would have thought it would scare him, but that was the job left to Santa Claus. Santa was awesome this year. Probably one of the best ones I've ever seen, but I was shocked to see how terrified Asher was of him. We got a huge laugh from these pictures. Do you think he is scarred for life?

Asher dressing up in Mommy's jacket. Whenever I do laundry, Asher loves to help out by trying on our clothes.

First Happy Meal

Today we had playgroup at the McDonalds playland and was pretty disappointed because Asher was too young to enjoy it. We were bummed....however, he did have his first happy meal and was pretty excited about the toy that came with it.

BYU Cheerleader

We dressed Asher up for the BYU vs. Utah game. He loves watching football with Daddy and has learned to throw his arms in the air everytime we yell touchdown. It is pretty dang cute!

Thanksgiving in Louisville

This year was fun because we actually did the traditional Thanksgiving traveling to see the relatives. It was fun because Aaron has several Robinson cousins that live in the mid-west and we were able to meet at the central location of Louisville, Kentucky where Brent and Katie live. We had a yummy time with them and Scott & Steph and Andy & Michelle.
