July 28 - July 31: Pool and Family

July 28 - Tuesday
After we left my parents house, we drove 3 hours south to Kari's house.  We arrived around 1 pm and ate lunch together.  The kids played together while I napped.  Kari's kids had play practice and their play that night.  So the kids and I drove down to Jeremy and Whitney's.

Joey and Isak played some tennis together.  Isak said he had a great time and Joey helped him feel more prepared for tennis tryouts.
While they played tennis, the rest of the kids played in the pool.
They loved the tubes and pool toys.
They loved jumping from the waterfall and going down the slide.
Isak joined them in the pool after tennis.

Love this photo. :)
The sunset was gorgeous!

We stayed until the lights came on.  Then we drove back to Kari's house.
I love their patio with the lights and furniture.  So nice!
July 29 - Wednesday
We walked to the park and played some pickleball and basketball.

Then we played my new favorite game, Splendor!
Kari and I enjoyed spa time with Khloe, Sofie and Kira.  They did such a good job!
They set up a wonderful spa!

We had foot soaks and back massages, makeup and hair.

Then we went to the pool in Kari's neighborhood.  The kids had a great time!

Kari made Mexican straw hat for dinner.  Yum!  Kari's family had the play one more night.  So Isak and I played Splendor four times!

July 30 - Thursday
We drove to Park City for Kaden's soccer game.  It was so fun to watch him play and cheer him and his team on.

Here's Kaden ready to play.  He did great!

It was hot, so the umbrellas helped give us some shade.

After the game we shopped at the outlets.  Old Navy was great and I think all of the kids got a few things.  Then we shopped at some other stores.  Sometimes we were waiting for others to finish shopping, so I got a few pictures.  :)

We ate lunch at McDonald's and Zupa's.  I loved the chocolate covered strawberries.  Yum!  Then we began our drive back to Kari's.  As we were driving, I felt like I needed to go to my sister Mandi's house.  I hadn't seen her very much this trip.  Her son Kyson just left for the MTC too.  I just wanted to be with her for a little bit.  So at the exit, I took a left to go towards Mandi's instead of a right to Kari's.  We stopped at Smith's grocery store and bought her some sunflowers and a loaf of French bread.  And then we surprised her.  I hope she was ok with it.  :)

We chatted for a little while and gave hugs and took pictures.
The kids took this one while we were getting ready for the picture.  I thought it was cute. :)

The kids were starting to be a little crazy, so we said our good byes and left.  I'm so grateful for Mandi.  She's an amazing sister and a great example to me.
We made it back to Kari's house and the three of us went to Orlando's for our traditional Mexican meal.  And yes, I ordered the same thing I always do, honey lime chicken flautas.
So last year the girls cleaned the downstairs and Jared had promised them a trip to the Dollar store as a reward.  Well, Khloe and Sofie didn't let him forget about it, and so Jared took them to the Dollar store.  Haha!  Thanks Jared.
We ate some chocolate ice cream and played Splendor.  Then I packed and prepared for tomorrow...

July 31 - Friday
Time to leave.  😢
We packed and left Kari's about 9 a.m.  Always sad to leave.
It was a 7 hour and 40 minute drive to Sidney, NE.  We stopped at  Rock Springs for lunch.  Arby sandwich for me.  Isak got three Dorito tacos from Taco Bell.  He loved them!  And the rest ate at Sonic.
My mom sent me with chocolate.  And it was well used!
We figured out dinner after arriving in Sidney.  Isak and Kira got McDonald's.  Sofie and Noah got a cheese pizza from Domino's and I got chicken quesadillas at Apple Bees.  We ate in the Hampton Inn hotel, room 300...our normal suite.  Yay!

And that was the end of our first day of driving.  Oh, we listened to a general conference talk and finished "The Genius Files."  I listened to "Before We Were Yours."

And this is also the end of July!  What a month!  Gatlinburg and a Idaho/Utah road trip.  Lots of great memories.
