Reporter does journalism. Bloomberg News then threatened him and his wife.

Remember that Bloomberg guy who ran for president for about a month and spent about one billion dollars to no avail? The corporation which made him rich has a very cozy relationship with the communists in China. The latest example is to be found at the invaluable Ace of Spades blog.

Bloomberg News Killed a Story About Communist China's Ruling Class Getting Capitalistically Super-Wealthy, In Order to Maintain Favor;
Bloomberg Then Went After the Reporter and Even His Wife
—Ace
Hearings. Now.

The public has a right to know if its supposed news organizations are colluding with a hostile foreign communist regime.

Bloomberg News was so determined to kill the story completely that they fired the reporter they'd already censored suspecting him of having talked about the story. (That is, fired for committing journalism.)

They threatened him and demanded he sign an NDA.

He did.

They also threatened his wife -- who had no connection to Bloomberg, except for her husband -- and demanded that she also sign an NDA swearing to never speak ill of Bloomberg.

She refused.

Fincher is a former correspondent for CNBC and Voice of America. At the time, she was finishing up her doctorate at a Chinese university. She bristled at what the company's lawyers were suggesting.

"They assumed that my husband would be able to silence me," Fincher says. "He didn’t want to do that. That's not the kind of relationship that we have."

Fincher tells NPR she walked out of the conference room, took the elevator to the lobby, left the building and never returned. Bloomberg LP continued to press her.

The story that Bloomberg News killed, and the reporter who wrote it, eventually made their way to the NY Times. Fincher, the reporter’s wife, wrote about Bloomberg's attempts to silence her for the Intercept. But the whole story does make you wonder what else Bloomberg News is not reporting for fear of offending authoritarian governments.
Meanwhile, CNN is releasing "journalistic reports" that are nigh-perfect copies of propaganda dispatches from China. Compare CNN's "report" with Red China's own "press release."

"Artificial engagement"

Andrew Blake reports in the Washington Times,
Twitter on Friday began suspending dozens of accounts for posting content supportive of Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg in violation of the company’s policies.

Seventy accounts were being suspended, either temporarily or permanently, after Twitter determined they broke its rules against artificially amplifying content, the company confirmed.

“We have taken enforcement action on a group of accounts for violating our rules against platform manipulation and spam,” a Twitter spokesperson told The Washington Times.

The Los Angeles Times first reported about Twitter suspending the accounts Friday evening, two days after The Wall Street Journal revealed that Mr. Bloomberg’s presidential campaign had begun hiring hundreds of “deputy field organizers” to promote his candidacy on social media services for $2,500 per month.

Tweets found by The L.A. Times and presented to Twitter showed multiple accounts posting identical messages supportive of Mr. Bloomberg, the former three-term mayor of New York City.

Twitter said it subsequently determined the accounts violated its “Platform Manipulation and Spam Policy,” which prohibits conduct including “coordinating with or compensating others to engage in artificial engagement or amplification.”

Some of the pro-Bloomberg accounts would be permanently suspended, while others would be allowed to remain on the platform provided their owners verify their identities, Twitter added.

“We ask that all of our deputy field organizers identify themselves as working on behalf of the Mike Bloomberg 2020 campaign on their social media accounts,” Bloomberg campaign spokesperson Sabrina Singh said in a statement, The Times reported.

“Through Outvote [a voter-engagement app], content is shared by staffers and volunteers to their network of friends and family and was not intended to mislead anyone,” she added.

Mr. Bloomberg, a billionaire who launched his presidential bid in November, has previously faced scrutiny as a result of his campaign tactics, including specifically his unprecedented spending on political advertisements. His campaign has spent roughly $452 million on advertising during the last four months, ad-tracking firm Advertising Analytics assessed this week, including $401 million on television and radio ads, NPR reported Friday.

Twitter is hardly the only social media service where the Bloomberg campaign is investing heavily, meanwhile. Mr. Bloomberg’s presidential campaign has spent more than $49.5 million on Facebook ads since mounting his bid, including $8.4 million in the last week alone, according to the social network’s statistics.

Bloomberg's negatives

In Breitbart, John Nolte writes in part,
On paper, the 78-year-old Bloomberg has been all over the place… a businessman, a Republican, Independent, and finally a Democrat. But you don’t have to squint to see the one constant in Bloomberg’s life and career: he’s a busybody tyrant, a rabid authoritarian whose decades-long history portends a presidency filled by an egomaniac who will make no sacrifices for himself as he signs a flurry of executive orders and treaties that force the rest of us to sacrifice our guns, our air conditioners, our privacy, our meat, salt, and sugar; and if we’re of a certain age, our access to life-saving health care.

Bloomberg was a perfect New York City mayor: a city full of left-wing sheep who love living under a tyrant, and who love having a nanny tell them what to do. There’s just something about leftists that makes them sleep better when the messiness of freedom is replaced with the orderliness of tyranny. The left is pathetic that way, but the rest of us will bleed out by the thousand paper cuts that slash away at our right to live our lives in the way we choose.

Here are some bone-chilling examples of Bloomberg’s authoritarian streak:

No Smoking in Your Own Establishment
Like the proverbial boiling frog, people are actually okay with this now… They think it’s great no one can smoke in public buildings, in a workplace, bar, or restaurant.

As a non-smoker, I agree…

What I don’t like, though, is the government telling a property owner what he can do with his property. If the owner of a bar or restaurant wants to allow smoking, who is the government to outlaw it?

It’s an outrageous and obscene violation of property rights.

What’s more, Bloomberg banned smoking outdoors! In New York, you can no longer smoke in public places such as a beach or park.

Banned Trans Fats
Restaurants and food vendors are no longer able to add trans fats to their foods.

Who the hell is Bloomberg to tell free Americans what they can sell and buy?

Bloomberg deserves credit for requiring menus to reveal ingredients and calories. I am always in favor of giving the public information to go with their choices.

Ban Big Sodas

Bloomberg wanted to tell you what size soda you could buy. Thankfully, a judge struck this nonsense down.

But the mindset of such a man is revealing.

And what the hell is the difference between drinking two 16 ounce cokes and a 32 ounce coke? It’s just stupid, bossy, punitive and un-American.

Ban Baby Formula

As New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg demanded that mothers breastfeed their babies and insisted hospitals keep baby formula under lock and key.

Bloomberg Doesn’t Believe China Is a Dictatorship

“Xi Jinping is not a dictator. He has to satisfy his constituents, or he’s not going to survive.”

Bloomberg Wants to Let Old People Die

Nothing reveals the heart of an authoritarian more than a utilitarian view of human life.

“If you show up with prostate cancer and you’re 95 years old, we should say, ‘Go and enjoy, have a nice one, live a long life. There’s no cure, and we can’t do anything.’ A young person, we should do something for. Society’s not willing to do that yet.”

Bloomberg said that.

And please note the “yet,” as though allowing a 95-year-old to die of cancer is “progress.”

This is monstrous.

Bloomberg is a monster, for only a monster is willing to condemn a human being to die in order to save a little money.

Bloomberg Believes Black People are Useless

Bloomberg is a classic racist, someone who sincerely believes black people are something less than human, are at best chattel, at worst a physical and financial danger to society.

Bloomberg Seeks to Control Women

Bloomberg Refused to Accept Term Limits

Bloomberg Despises the Kulaks

Bloomberg Is Not a Big Fan of Democracy

Pushes the Global Warming Hoax

Flaming eco-hypocrite Michael Bloomberg is of course a climate paranoid, but the real reason he pushes this hoax is because it is a “crisis” that gives the government license to violate every one of our rights and freedoms — from our light bulbs, to where we live, to our right to life.

Disarm the American People

Nowhere has Bloomberg put more energy and treasure than in his demonic quest to disarm the American people and leave us helpless — which makes total sense if you look at the man in full…

How else is Bloomberg going to thwart democracy, treat black people like animals, treat women like slaves, get away with reading all of our emails, and force us to do what he says is best for us, unless we are helpless to a federal government with the legal right to use violence against us?

Michael Bloomberg should terrify anyone who believes in individual freedom.

A cheap date?

Mollie Hemingway writes in part in the Federalist,
...Bloomberg is spending unheard of amounts of money to essentially purchase the nomination. He’s spent more than $400 million in advertising, compared to $18 million for the next non-billionaire candidate. He’s providing ridiculously fancy food spreads at voter events. And he’s hiring people at good salaries through November, regardless of whether he wins the nomination or not.

It is unclear how many people are simply agreeing to be bought and how many think his wealth is his biggest comparative advantage for defeating Trump. Perhaps it’s a combination of both.

But even if the media and Democratic establishment are more than willing to be bought off, are Democratic voters that pathetic? Possibly, but there is reason to think the voters won’t be as cheap a date as their leaders are proving to be.

...But nominations, and elections, are usually won by people who excite the voters and respond to their issues. The evidence in support of that excitement outside of the establishment wing is lacking, at least at this point.

The Five on Bloomberg

Can a U.S. election be bought?

Tucker: "Bloomberg has already spent $417 million on advertising, more than ten times what Bernie has spent. His goal? Buy the election! He will defend the widening wealth gap above all else. This is a total departure of anything we have seen in the history of this country!

Trump ran for president on ideas voters actually liked. Secure the border, end counterproductive wars, fight the fascism of political correctness."
