First Week of Summer Vacation

The first week of Summer vacation is over. It was a busy week.

A local music store hosted a downtown music fest each day from noon to 1:00.  Phoebe and Abby and two of their friends took to the street and sang and played for $$ to aid Feeding America. Monday they raised $16.00, Tuesday they raised $71.16, and Thursday they raised $17.50.  Many musicians came out and played but I'm not sure what the grand total was for Feeding America. I guess, that whatever the total was, someone was going to match it. Last year $1500 was raised but there was no match. Hope they did well!

Nothing passes the time like fishing. I caught a gross sheephead and that was the extent of our catch. We had fun though sitting there in anticipation of a nice meal.

Today was our Flag Day parade. It was a HOT 90 something degrees but we found a shady spot and enjoyed the bands and floats. This float impressed me. The guys on here are real! They were depicting the photo, Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima. These guys did not move at all. I couldn't imaging going the whole parade route in the positions they were in. I wouldn't have known this was real if I hadn't seen the guys getting ready before the parade. Wish I would have been on the other side of the street to compare the two.

Add in swimming, roller skating, biking, new school touring, and we had a full week. One down, several more to go.   I'm pooped already.

Determined kitty

Tifa was determined to get in to this drawer. One leap and she would have made it, but she decided to do it the hard way.

She did leap to the top drawer of my dresser and with it being halfway open, she disappeared behind the drawer to the back of the dresser.

Goofy cat.

Arm art

Perry got a new tattoo.
Goodbye tax refund.

Last Summer's tattoo.
He has another Native American  tattoo below this one, but I told him he needs to shave his arm before I take a photo. The Indian and his horse was too hairy.

Snow Days

We had 13 inches of snow dumped on us a few weeks ago but then the weather decided to dip below 0 for awhile. Abby was finally able to get out and play last week. The snow wasn't very good for building a snowman but she did manage to get this little guy built.

It got warmer the past few days, so she went out again and was able to make these two. She got mad at me for taking the head off her first snowman and throwing it at her.

Another photo of Tifa chillin' on another doll bed.

6 inches of snow predicted for Tuesday. That's not a lot, but I guess with the "warmer" weather, it's going to be heavy. Lots of wind for some blowing and drifting. Yippie. :-(

Happy February!

Christmas in art

Crazy, Superphoto app with one of the Christmas photo's. The girl's each got a Harley hoodie, among other things which are oddly removed from this picture. The floor behind them was covered with gifts but all you see are their balled up robes, a turquoise one on the floor and a pink one on the chair. Kinda funny.
