Bringing Home Natalie Grace ShiXiang
We are thrilled to announce the referral of our precious angel, Natalie Grace ShiXiang, waiting for us in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China. ShiXiang was born on November 16, 2008. Yes, that's 2 days after Matthew's birthday and 7 days before Lindsey's! We will do our best to keep everyone posted as we get updates and finally travel to bring home our sweet baby girl.

Short Update
Just a short post to let everyone know we're doing great. Life is in high speed at the moment but LIFE IS GOOD!! God has blessed us with another precious child and she is such a joy. I am pleased to report that Natalie no longer regards her carseat as a torture chamber. :) Her doctor appointments and evaluations have begun. Not much to report just yet. Will let everyone know when her surgeries are scheduled. We started back with school a week after arriving home. Matthew is in second grade this year and Lindsey is in first. The lesson planning, teaching, housework, etc. is keeping me pretty busy but I know these days will pass quickly and our children will be grown before we know it. I am enjoying having a baby again, one last time. Each day is an adventure.
Hopefully soon I will get caught up on our photos and get them uploaded to snapfish. Then, I will post a link so you can see more of our China photos. It's harder than I expected to get a good photo of 3 kiddos. I'll keep trying. Have to run for now.

About Natalie
As you can see from the photos, Natalie is tiny. She is 31" long and weighs approx 18 pounds. We are putting size 2 diapers on her. She is between size 6/9 months and 12 months for length but even 3-6 month bottoms fall off of her. Good thing I brought mostly one-piece outfits and dresses for her.
She is definitely a Mommy's girl. She will let Shane feed and play with her but only Mommy can hold her. She sleeps on top of me most of the night but in the early hours of the morning I can usually move her beside me. It's going to be interesting when we get home.
Natalie had her first tantrums yesterday. In China there are no carseats for infants/children. Most of the seat belts in the back seat don't work. Natalie spends bus and taxi rides screaming to get down on the floor to play. Please pray for our plane rides. We may have to break out the Benadryl.
Natalie is a sweet baby, more precious than words can describe. Can't wait for all of you to meet her.

Orphanage visit.
It took about two hours by van to get to Natalie's orphanage. It was a nice drive from one city to another. It was refreshing to see wide open space after being cooped up in the city for as long as we have been. As we toured the orphanage the nanny's would come up to Natalie excited to see her. They tried to get her to come to them but she would not let go of her mommy. All the nannies just laughed and said "mommy's girl". Everyone at the orphanage was extremely kind and very polite. On our way back to the hotel we stoped and had lunch at McDonalds. Oh, and we are in the middle of a typhoon!

Day 2
Natalie did not walk at all the first day that we got her. We assumed that she was delayed and could not. On day two we were delighted to discovered that she can walk although a little unsteady. She enjoyed putting on Lindsey's shoes and walking around the room. She seems to be opening up to us and becoming very attached to mommy.
