Fall/Winter 2010

For those of you who get Cartoon Network, you may recognize our Halloween Costumes as Phineas, Ferb, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, and Perry the Platypus.  Ian sure has some great ideas for costumes, huh!

Fall Pictures up in Daybreak

It sure was a special time for us and Ian when he chose to be baptized.  It was a great day as we had family and friends that were able to attend and everything went right as planned.  We love you Ian and are happy of the choice you made!
The whole Shakespear clan (and us Clement's of course!)
Ian was very excited that we got to go to a Utes game.  This was his favorite part of the night was flashing the "U" sign!
We were at the mall on a saturday just wandering around the mall and there happened to be a kids radio station that had a prize wheel.  Ian loves prize wheels and got the chance to spin.  It landed on 2 free tickets to the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes show in West Valley.  We went and enjoyed the famous show, and it was "spectacular!"  So here's a picture of the famous Rockettes!

Brian and I just celebrated our 9th year anniversary.  For lunch we went to our favorite Sushi restaurant and were tickled to see that (by total accident) the center of Brians sushi roll just happened to be in the shape of a heart!

For my birthday Brian pampered me with some salon passes to a hip new salon not too far from our house.  Before our trip to Vegas last month I went and got a new style and haircut and was excited for some new styles.

Then on a wild hair this week I decided to cut about 8 inches of my hair off and Brian talked me into throwing in some highlights and lowlights.  He scored from my experience too.  While we were at the salon the owners happened to show up and saw a lot of employees sitting around.  So the owner approached Brian and asked if he would like a free manicure (they also offered it to an 8 year old little girl who was waiting for her mom to get a haircut, who we later found out goes to school with Ian).  Brian agreed and was in heaven from a hand massage and manicure.  Then since they still weren't finished with me the also offered to give him a hot towel facial.  He was really in heaven after that!  It was a really nice evening!

Summer 2010

I know it's been a while since I've posted.  Mostly I'm just going to post a few pics from the summer, so here goes!

Ian's first day of 2nd Grade.

Fall 2010 picture

Easlake Elementary just unveiled their mascot "Fireball," and the kids were SOOOOO excited for the unveiling.

Fishing at Pine lake! If you look close enough you can see that 2 fish were caught on the same line/pole.  One is still at the edge of the water and the other one is in the air above the rocks.

Ian's big catch (that he wouldn't hold, so I had to hold it while I took the picture!).

Our total catch for the day, it was awesome!

Ian posing at Snowbird ski resort (in the summertime of course!)

Ever since Brian got his Harley Davidson Ian has ventured out to the Harley shop with Dad. It's extra fun when there's a "ride" that is kid sized.

Brian didn't believe I could make a lemon merengue pie, so I proved him wrong, I even made 2! LOL

Brian got a new toy this week!
Thanks to his one true love!
Like I have always said,
"I have the best darn wife in the whole world! "

Hmmmmm......

Here are just a few things from this spring/summer.

Ian's Block Turtle

Ian's Cloud Car (see the windshield!).

This year at school Ian earned the "Dragon Pride Award" by doing a list of over 30 tasks that had to be completed before the school year ended. We are happy he accepted the challenge and earned the award!

We think this shirt rocks, but it was like pulling teeth to get Ian to wear it.

Ian saw a trellis at a friends house and just HAD to have his picture taken under it. Looks good to me!

Ian's most comfortable position for sleeping in the car.

Ian's new Phineas and Ferb Shirt. Who else just loves Phineas and Ferb?

Ian heard the ice cream truck while he was outside playing and we ran through our community and tracked it down. He bought himself a $3 Sonic Ice Cream Pop. It looked like he had eaten a smurf by the time he finished it up.

Thank goodness that even though he likes ice cream he likes salad too! LOL

Catching Up

What an awesome day we had today! We started out the Day at Nickel Mania, went to the Sweets Candy Factory for a free tour and a great deal afterwards on candy, candy, candy. Then we went out to see the Great Salt Lake. This is the first time for me (that I know of) and Ian, but Brian (who didn't grow up in Utah, has been there multiple times). It was a great family day, and we didn't have to travel very far to do all this fun! Then I (Shelly) got to come home and play with my food a little bit. I know it's crazy, but I've wanted to do it for some time now! LOL

Ian Playing Skitball

The string of tickets Brian won!

No pictures are allowed at the Candy Factory, but they let you keep the cool little hats. So here's Ian at home with some of the sweets we bought after the tour.

Heading towards the Great Salt Lake!

Brian and Ian with Saltaire waaaaay in the background.

Playing with my food! Hey, it could be worse!

Easter

So I'm always surprised when we get Spring School photos. Ian made sure he wore his favorite Mario shirt (just like he did last year, with a different colored Mario shirt). He sure must have been having a good day for these pictures. That's about a 1000 watt smile!

I sure wish school pictures weren't so expensive though. They wanted $13 a page for their pictures. Crazy!

We had an awesome time coloring our boiled eggs. We didn't get a chance to roll them this year though, so I let Ian throw them out of the car window on our way home from Tropic. He thought that was great!
Here's everyone starting the annual Easter egg hunt. This time in Grandma and Grandpa Shakespear's back yard orchard. It was great.

Ian is checking everywhere for those eggs!
Checking out the loot afterwards.
I don't know where Tyce ran off to, but it's great that almost everyone was smiling in this picture, that's pretty hard to do!

Ian, checking out what goodies are hiding out in those eggs. We had a great time in Tropic, but missed Brian, Jim, and Mikki. Hopefully next year everyone can come!

Playing Catch-up

So it's been a while since I've posted. Here's just a hodge-podge of pictures and what's been going on. This first one is funny to us. We had gone shopping on our day off and decided to eat at Golden Corral. Ian hadn't really had a buffet like this one. He ate plenty of fun food and was delighted at the dessert selection. We let him have a little fun. He got a cookie, a small piece of fudge, a brownie and an ice cream cone. This picture of him is about 1/2 hour after lunch! He crashed hard, darn sugar. LOL

On another day off we took Ian to Gateway Discovery and we all had fun. Here's Ian building with some fun shaped magnets. Very creative.

They have a helicopter on the roof that kids can "fly" it makes noise and they can flip switches, and be a pilot. It was great.

They also have a news desk and you can change the backgrounds and read the script on a monitor, and do the weather, and much more. He looks good at that desk.

They have a fully metal wall with magnetic pipes that you can shape into a maze and drop a ping-pong ball through and see if it makes it to the end. Brian enjoyed this one too!

Another great place, a climbing wall. Ian didn't want to do it on his own, and Brian was an awesome Dad to give him a little support.

He did eventually do half of it on his own.

Yay, architecture with foam blocks!

And an awesome crane to get the blocks up to the building sight.

There is a local museum that the kids can go to for free here in South Jordan. I didn't get a lot of pictures, but Ian enjoyed being the teacher for a while.

And it seems like they always have fun characters at Wal-Mart. Here's Ian with Ronald (I have a picture of him with a Lego Man Stormtrooper, but can't find it right now),

I guess he's a little more comfortable on a horse that doesn't move. He doesn't do well on other horses, lol.

And Snug as a bug in a rug. Ian loves getting wrapped up and cuddled!
