Our Family Stockings

So back in 2007 when Kamryn was a year and a half we traveled to Houston for Thanksgiving with my family. My lovely cousin Jennifer was working on a Christmas stocking for her husband. It was adorable! She told me that her mom had made the kids stockings back when they were little and how neat it was to have. I decided then that this was definitely something I wanted for my girls! I started back then and have done one every year because they are way too time consuming and lets face it I just didn't have much time! Of course I also have only worked on them around the holidays. Sewing each sequin just required the holiday spirit and Christmas music... So I FINALLY finished this year with Madalyn's stocking! I'm just so excited to be done- as long as there are no more kids in our future anyway!
So thanks to Jennifer and obviously my Aunt Beth who got the whole thing started- oh what about 30 years ago? What wonderful things for my girls to cherish and hopefully inspire them to  make for their families in maybe another 30 years!

Of course the girls had to have matching so there are no arguments when they get a little older... plus I think it's the cutest little snow angel anyway! Side note: Jen if it's a boy they have the cutest snowman pirate! Which would have been Madalyn's had she been a baby Jack...

Thank you to my family for the inspiration! I'm so glad I did them!

7 months old!

Well I can't believe today my little baby is already 7 months! She is growing so fast. This past month has brought lots of changes. She no longer likes being rocked to sleep which is very sad for me. Although it is nice being able to lay her in her crib and she goes to sleep on her own, I do miss rocking her. She is eating more solids now, two meals a day- veggie and fruit, and nursing only 3 times a day. We have had quite the battle getting her to take a bottle, wonder where she gets her stubbornness from? I find it funny since she used to take one. Any-who I gave up that fight and decided why bother since she is old enough to start using a sippy cup. We are working on that now! She still sleeps 12 hours at night but her naps are lacking. 3 naps a day but we are back to short ones with this teething. She has had open sores on her gum for over a month and now somehow has bit her tongue without teeth. Still waiting and I feel so bad she is hurting!
A new milestone today- she is sitting up now! I think it's weird that Kamryn sat on her 6 month birthday and Madalyn on her 7th! I'm so glad now that she can play with toys easier. It's funny how she gets to toys... On her tummy she will get up on her hands but not her knees. When she lays on her back though she lifts her butt off the ground and "crab walks" to get to what she wants! Never seen that before but what a clever little cookie!
Here are some photos of the girls this past month.
In Uncle Bust's superman cape from the 80's! El ca Bungo is back...
 Making chicken fried rice

 First bowling experience!

She can finally sit in the big girl chair! High chairs are so overrated. Glad we got rid of it this time around.
 Trying out her new cup

Kamryn got to see Santa again- but was shy this time around!
Loves to run on the tennis courts!
She made her bed one day all by herself!!! We were so proud!
Sitting on her own! Slightly wobbly at times but finally ready for the big girl bath and booster seat. I'm so excited now she can ride in the shopping cart at HEB! She was getting heavy in that wrap.

Kamryn was cold this morning so she put socks on her hands... HAHA!
Going after that cup at lunch time today! She enjoyed her first meal in the big chair!
This Christmas is sure going to be FUN with two little girls in the house! I can't wait. Happy Holidays everyone!
