Road Trip!

Soooooooooooooooooooooo.............

This weekend we are going on a road trip to Denver!

There we will pick up our new car! We bought it from an insurance company, and we got an awesome deal because it was in a shooting. It has a few bullet holes in the bumper, and the possiblility that someone died in it...but no major problems. We were relieved to find that no body parts had been left in the car =)

We'll also get to see my family for a bit...

Calvin and I started doing P 90 X (the exersice program) this month because we want to be healthy. It's way hard!...but also fun.

Well, see ya later!

hoolabalooo

We've been having a wonderful break! It feels so nice to be able to relax, and not have any papers, projects or reading assignments. I've been crocheting like crazy. So far I've made a hat for Calvin, a hat for our niece, and almost finished a scarf for my grandma.
We celebrated our anniversary last week. We got to go snowboarding. =) I hadn't gone snowboarding in almost two years...so I had a few crashes, but we had a really good time.

Here's a picture of one of the hats I made...

~ happy holidays ~

We put up christmas decorations last week! It’s way early , but this year I’m so excited about the holidays!

Tonight we’re heading up to Logan for Thanksgiving. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is, of course, mashed potatoes, and when we open the box and read what everyone wrote that they are thankful for.

Last week we were able to go see one of our favorites, Old Crow Medicine Show (below). It was great! They played all the songs I wanted them too. One of the guys in the band sounded like he was a radio announcer from the 50s. A highlight from the show was when my cousin, Hanna, was kissed by some random girl. =)

brinlyn has arrived!

She is our new niece. Yes, she does have a mohawk courtesy of Evan.

How cute!

And! My hair is gone! And I love it! It's so easy!

We had a halloween party at our house, and a good time was had by all. We had lots of people come, and most importantly we got to play the mummy game...

I also wanted to show off the hat I just made...

Last week we were able to go to the Jazz game for the first game of the season. It was awesome! I've never been to a game like that before. There were fireworks inside and a huge flag the size of the basketball floor. Calvin's parents took us for Calvin's birthday. We were so close we almost smell the sweat...

I also wanted to post how I want to cut my hair. I'm a little scared though. It might take me a few months to actually do it...

welcome to the cook family blog!

we hope you enjoy your time here with us.

Lately in our lives:

Calvin: Is taking an Astronomy class at UVU, and enjoying work...kind of. He is writing a song write now. It sounds like an upbeat tune with a bit of whistling. He's been getting together with my cousin Chris and a kid from work to play the songs he has written. They sound pretty good!

Speaking of songs we have just been given a piano from my Great Grandma Sprague. It is a very unique looking piano; it has a smaller keyboard, and is a spinet (meaning the hammers and wires are next to your feet instead of near the top). It is the cutest! We just had it repaired, and it's getting tuned tomorrow. It will get a lot of love and playing time around our house. We are so excited to have it!

Chelsey: Well, as Calvin pointed out earlier today, I'm having Outback withdrawals! Someone was asking me about working at Outback today (a wilderness treatment program where I worked). I was reminded of how much I LOVED it, and everything I learned there. It was a great opportunity to learn how to teach values and to invite change. It was a wonderful program because they didn't force anyone to do anything. They let natural consequences take their course, and it was wonderful to see the participants learning, growing and changes on their own, with out being forced.

In school I'm just as busy as ever, and ready to graduate! Today I went to ballet. Let's just say I'm not the most coordinated, but I do enjoy it. I can't wait to see how the upcoming election will pan out. I've also been busy painting furniture. It is my new favorite thing to do. I painting our T.V. stand turquoise, and am now painting a frame to match.

So long for now.

p.s. blogging is so weird!
