Almost five months!

Our little guy is growing up way too fast!  He will be five months old next week, which is unbelievable.  As of his four month check up, Drew weighed 14 pounds, 8 1/2 ounces and was 23 & 3/4 inches tall.  He's grown a lot in the last few months! 

He's starting to show more and more of his personality with smiles, giggles, and lots of new noises.  He's started batting at his toys and watching what we're doing a lot.  He really stares at us when we're eating, so we're thinking about giving him some solid food very soon.  He has started using his bumbo seat and just recently his jumparoo - which he loved!!  His head is pretty flat in the back, so hopefully using those more will help with that.  We've finally got his reflux under control and he's been consistently eating 6-8 ounces at a time.  He's also started sleeping all night long (7 am until 6 am) right after his four month birthday.  Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jen taught us a new bat wing swaddle that helped with that!

Boys' Rooms!

After many months, Ryan's big boy room and Drew's nursery are finally done!  Here are some pictures...

Drew's First Day of School!

Today is Drew's first day of school!  It's crazy to think he's already 11 weeks old (tomorrow) and is starting school.  I'm only working part of this week so that I can get a few things done and ease back into work.  Tomorrow will be the first day I have to get both boys to school and get myself to work on time.  If that all happens on time it will be a miracle!  So far Drew is doing really well and his teachers seemed really excited to have him in their class.  Here are some pictures from his first day!

February Update

What a fun month it's been!  Drew has been sleeping more (consistently 5-6 hours at a time and most recently 8 hours last night!), Ryan has been potty training like a champ, and we've had fun celebrating the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day!

Two Months Old!! 

Drew is already two months old!  Here are some highlights of his second month...

• He weighs 11 pounds, 13 ounces and is 21 1/2 inches tall. 
• He's been sleeping very well.  He gets his last bottle for the night around 7:30 and goes anywhere from 5-7 hours before waking up for another bottle.  Then he goes back down for another 3-4 hours. 
• He's eating about 4 ounces every 3 hours during the day.
• He's still very gassy and I'm beginning to wonder if he's dealing with some reflux issues too.  We've got a question out to the pediatrician on that front.
• He smiled for the first time on Feb. 24th!  I didn't get to see it, but Daddy did!
• He's just now starting to really make eye contact and starting to study our faces.  He's a little behind in this area since he was five weeks early.
• He's starting to make some new cooing noises which are very cute. 

As for Ryan, he's had quite a few changes this month too!  He started a new daycare and has been doing very well.  He's starting to learn some of his new friends names and seems to really enjoy the new class.  He's also started the process of potty training.  After very little progress, we switched to big boy underwear on President's Day weekend and he's done pretty well.  After a couple of rough days with lots of accidents he finally had success that Monday!  The last two weeks have been not bad on the #1 front (with only an accident or two each day) and pretty bad on the #2 front (with all accidents).  This past weekend though I think it's finally starting to sink in!  Yesterday was our first day with no accidents and I'm hoping that's the start of a new trend!  He's so proud of himself and we're proud of him too!  Can't believe our little boy is so grown up!

Six Weeks

Baby Drew has been filling out quite a bit, so I figured I'd post a new picture.  He got circumcised this past week right at six weeks and at his appointment he weighed 10 pounds!

In mid-January we had a photographer (Deb Harper Photography) come to the house to get some newborn pictures of Drew and some family pictures of the rest of us.  We got some great shots!!

 



January Christmas

My Dad and his fiance Kathy came down from New York the third weekend in January to celebrate Christmas with us.  Jacki, Steve, Jaden, Jeff, Jenn, and Simon all came over so we got to have another family Christmas all together.  We were spoiled with delicious food, way too many presents, and wonderful family to spend time with. 

A few days before everyone arrived we got our first snow of the season, so we were able to have a somewhat white Christmas!
