What a ride...

I have been gone for a couple of weeks and some times it seems like months, but then the days just flew by. Why is that? I missed my house, my bed, my things, but I loved being where I was. Having all of the grand kids around for several days along with my  wonderful daughter and her husband and my super son.....what more could a person ask for? Well, you say, how about a very good friend....my son-in-law's brother, Mike and my very brand new Grand daughter-in-law, Ann. Great food, great company, great sights, great place to visit, great fun.
Our annual trip to Flaming gorge this year started out to be very normal, just me, Carl, Christy & her family & Mike our guide on the river, BUT...we invited friends and other family who were unable to make it at the last minute, but we finally convinced our son & his kids that it would be fun, so they joined us.

On one day we just went to one of the beach &swim areas where the kids kayaked, canoed & build sand castles and swam.

Then Greg & kids got in and we went into Manila for our annual ice cream splurge

Ann & Tyler traipsing down the trail.

The next day was full of hiking the 7.2 miles trail down the Green River

After the hike, they went cliff jumping......................WOW......it looked so much higher than last year because the water is so low....................................scary...............................but, they did it anyway, no step for a stepper, huh?

Turtle soup anyone?

While I was out taking pictures of the church building progress, I decided to take a visit to the city park and look at the turtles that I had been hearing about from a friend. All I had was a taco that I had just bought and couldn't eat, so I shared it with them. I believe that the birds got all of it, but the turtles came to see what was going on. The little pond is absolutely full of turtles ranging from very tiny to VERY large. All different variations and species. I think I even saw a loggerhead, but not sure exactly what type it was, but they were very fancy and colorful. The water was very muddy  and the sun very bright so it was hard to see what I was taking pictures of. I think that I will go back some other time and try different exposures. Anyway, very interesting.
Yesterday, Carl & I went to Cove Harbor and looked around a little bit. Didn't see very many birds and since I DO NOT have a very expensive camera, I couldn't get very close to the bird that I was trying to get a picture of and nothing else was close enough so I took pictures of just the VIEW, which was very nice and peaceful.
