Be Still....

Hello friends ~
Today's card is holding on to the final days of summer.
I made this card earlier this summer and never got around to posting it.  The stencil challenge at Just Us Girls reminded me to post it and add it to their challenge.

The Flower Bunch stencils are from Altenew which I colored using Distress Oxide Inks, and the panel is cut using Rounded and Braided Rectangles from Pink Fresh Studio.  I placed the stenciled panel over a layer of gold mirror cardstock.

I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the center of both flowers and stamped the verse from Psalm 46:10 on the lower left corner.  I don't know the maker of the stamp.  It's an oldie that I no longer have the packaging for.

To finish it off, I added a pretty vellum butterfly sticker from Spellbinders.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Little Blue Bird

Hello crafty friends ~ I have a pretty blue bird card to share with you today.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest that was similar in design as this, so I cased the layout using my own dies.

Oldies but goodies include, Wonky Stitched Scalloped Rectangles from MFT, Winter Robin from Dee's Distinctively Dies, Olive Branches from Cheery Lynn Designs and Potpourri Flowers from Poppystamps.

I cut the olive leaves and the smaller flowers out of white cardstock and rubbed on a bit of Distress inks to add color.  The larger flowers are cut from blue scraps found in my scrapbox.  All topped with fairy gems from Honeybee Stamps.

I like that this whole card was made using scraps, except for the card base.
I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Stenciled Cosmos

Happy Monday to you!

About a month ago I was inspired by my sweet friend Marcia's post using these wonderful cosmos stencils from The Ton.  Like any good enabled friend would do, I went out and bought me some.

The first card I made, I used the colors they suggested in the packaging.  I tried to keep the stenciling light.

For the second card, I used a rainbow of color, much like Marcia did.

I used the Pierced Feature Frames from Papertrey Ink to make an eclipse card.

The verse is also from PTI.  I'm tickled with these new stencils and can't wait to ink them up in more color combinations.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges.

Sunflower Postage

Hi friends ~ I'm bringing you a little sunshine with this bright and cheerful sunflower postage card featuring Sunflower stencils from Waffle Flower.

I honestly can't get enough of all these fantastic WF stencils!  For it's first use, I stenciled both the rectangle and the circle images not knowing if I'd use them both on a single card, but as you can see I did.

I don't have the coordinating dies for this set, but I found that the Elizabeth Craft Designs postage stamp fit the rectangle image perfectly.  I also rummaged through the circle dies and found this Stitched Pinked Circles from Impression Obsession that fit pretty well.

I used the WF postage stamp stencils around the edges of an A2 card base, giving it the look of an air mail envelope and then stamped a couple of the postage stamp images from their postage stamp set.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
A Cut Above ~ Anything Goes September

I hope this is Clean and Simple enough for the CAS Mix Up Challenge ~ Sunflowers.  If not, I'm sure they'll let me know.

I chose these colors because we've had beautiful blue skies to set off the lovely yellow sunflowers growing in our garden right now.

Sending You Prayers

Good morning friends ~
As I was rummaging through my card file I came across this card that I made months ago and never posted.  I actually made it for a challenge but it closed before I had a chance to enter.  Do you do that?  I miss challenge deadlines all the time!

I started by making a scripty background using a Penny Black background stamp, and distressing around the edges of the background with the same color ink.

The beautiful Cosmos Bunch from Pinkfresh Studio was stamped and then stenciled using soft, muted colors.  I usually have a heavy hand when it comes to stenciling, so this took lots of self control.

The "Sending You Prayers" is a stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamp.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
A Cut Above ~  September

The leaves have just started to fall here and temperatures are definitely fall like.   I've started cutting things back in the garden getting them ready for winter.  Seems like summer whisked by way to quickly.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Shaped Card ~Guest Designer for Cut It Up Challenge #364

Good morning friends~  A while back my card made the Top Cut at the Cut It Up Challenge, so I'm honored to have a guest spot designing for them in today's challenge to make a "Shaped Card".

I used Nested Keyplate Etched dies from Say It With Stamps to make the shaped card.  I thought the keyplate design was a little bit unique and the fact that it is a layered set, gave me lots of opportunity to use up some printed paper.  The brown inside frame was actually cut from the same pale yellow cardstock I used for the flowers, but I sponged over it with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I triple layered the outside frame and the inner frame to give it some dimension.

The printed papers are from a set called Floral Whispers from Asuka Studio.  The water colored florals in this set are truly stunning.  I added a couple of flowers made using Layered Colorful Blooms from Spellbinders.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, and it is stamped on a banner from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

A Layered Butterfly sticker from Spellbinders has landed herself on the bottom of this pretty card.  I think this card turned out quite nice!

You can link up your own shaped card at the Cut It Up Challenge.
Thanks so much to all the designers at Cut It Up Challenge for allowing me to take part in this design challenge with them.

Elegant Florals

Hello friends ~ I wasn't planning on posting today, until I saw the Time Out Challenge word prompts.  My card fits into three categories so I thought, why not!

I filled the front of the card using the beautiful Peony Bouquet stamp & die set from Altenew, sticking with a monochrome color palette, minus the leaves.

It's hard to see, but I stamps a diamond pattern, yellow on yellow to make a subtle background. The filigree sentiment from Papertrey Ink is stamped in dark green.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Time Out Challenge ~ using prompts "birthday", "floral" & "monochrome"

Spring Flowers

Good morning friends~ I just thought I'd pop in and share this card I made for Easter this year, but never got around to posting it.

The daffodils are from Lawn Fawn that I inked up using DOX inks and framed with a Pinkfresh Studio frame.

To add interest to the flowers, I splattered on more ink and spritzed them with water.  I don't remember where the little flowers are from.  They were already cut and sitting in a baggie in my box of die cuts waiting to be used.

For ease, and because I am always trying to use up my design paper, I backed the whole scene with a scrap of really old design paper that was also sitting in my box of scraps waiting to be used.

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:
Just Us Girls ~ Word Week "Flowers"

Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Cut It Up ~ Flowers

The spring flowers are glorious in the garden right now!  I hope you're getting outside to enjoy them.

Easter Peek-A-Boo Book Card

Good morning friends.  I'm back again, with more Easter cards.
I know.... two days in a row!  Right?

I enjoyed making these book cards so much!  I purchased the Have A Spine die from The Greetery before Christmas and made a few Christmas cards using it, but I just had to make more Easter cards.

I cut an oval out of the center of the book cover and framed it with the lovely medallion from a set called Frames & Tags: Zoe, from Creative Expressions. The lily is from Papertrey Ink.  You can see the vellum layer through the oval, which I'll get to in a short minute.

I heat embossed the spine of the book using the same stamp I used on the previous book cards that was recently posted.  That is a super old stamp from Crafty Secrets.

Here is the vellum page, stamped with the Hymn Song stamp from The Greetery.  I love how you get a dreamy view of the next page through the vellum.

And here is the stamping on the back page.

All together, I think it's a wonderful card to celebrate our Savior and His victory over the grave.

I made the same card using a different color for the spine of the book.

And two more cards using different lilies.

I'll be adding one of these cards to the following challenges:
Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
Double D Challenges ~ Easter / Church / Cross

Simone Says Monday Challenge ~ Beautiful Blooms
