Welcome to our Happiness Board!
At the beginning of this year we read the scripture 2 Nephi 5:27 "And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness." We decided that we wanted to do something to commemorate the joy people were giving us each month, helping us live after the manner of happiness. Now at the end of each month we print out pictures of moments that brought us joy and we put them up on what we call our "Happiness Board." We get to look at the pictures all month before they are put into our Happiness album.
Well, we decided that it would be fun to share this board with all of you. Each month (hopefully) we will put up the pictures that are on our happiness board. We want to thank you all for making our lives joyous!
So....JULY!
Tyler and I participated in the Springville Folkfest. This is where dancers from around the world come and perform. We danced in the opener and closer. The opener was a Country Western dance. We couldn't help but dress Grant up too (thanks in part to Andrea and David Newey)! Grant is 10 months now, for those who are wondering :)
These are some of the dancers from Belgium. We loved getting to know them throughout the week! They were a very cheerful and kind group of people. Most of the girls went out and got cowboy boots as their souvenir and wore them every day. We were sad when they had to leave, but luckily we have Facebook!
Tyler's parents got a wagon. Grant LOVED it.
I got to fly to Kentucky to go to the wedding of Patrick and Heather Oechsli, some good high school friends. I wish them all the happiness in the world!
While in Kentucky I was able to visit Michelle Fox, one of my best friends in Louisville. Grant loved her! It was fun to see how far we've come (although we've got so far to go! ...anyone singing?)
At the beginning of this month we went to the Wills Family Reunion. It was wonderful to see everyone. Tyler's mom put it together and did a great job. This is a picture of Hyrum during the sock wars!
Right before the reunion, some of the family went boating. We were lucky enough to tag along (thank you!). Tyler and I had a lot of fun tubing with his cousin, Ashton, and his wife, Allison. Luckily we found some willing family members to watch Grant and their daughter.
Tyler's cousin, Kayla, and her mom spent hours and hours making every grandchild a fabulous minion hat. The hats were amazing! Here is a picture of the 87 or so hats (grandchild, spouses, and great grandchildren all got one).
Fun times playing in the tent!
For the Fourth of July we all gathered in South Jordan. We had a slip'n'slide, ate yummy food, and shot off some fireworks. Tyler and I decided to start a new tradition of Dutch oven dinner and homemade ice cream for dessert. We'll see how long that lasts since it takes so much work, but it sure is delicious!
We moved! Tyler got a job at Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital as a Recreational Therapist. This means that we are staying in Provo for the next little bit. We loved staying in South Jordan with the family for a few months, but are very excited to have our own place to call home.
Babies! Tyler's side of the family is full of them, which is so much fun. Sitting next to Grant and me is Hannah and Sierra (Sierra is Sereen's daughter). Next to them is Heather (Tyler's aunt) with her new daughter, Zoey.
Thanks everyone for a great month!
