Denver 2010

Willy and I along with our children and cousins worked all summer long picking.... WORMS!  We picked and picked and picked night after night, living through the back pain and pulled hamstrings.  We picked the biggest, fatest, juiciest worms until we had enough money to fly to Denver and go the the Broncos and Rockies game.  We had a lot of fun and made some great memories!

Happy Birthday Sam

Sammy had a great birthday.  He wanted "Mater" cakes and he loved being the center of attention and getting ...

Lightning McQueen.  He got a ton of cars from the movie and a new two wheeled bicycle with training wheels.  He was so excited.  He can ride the bike great.  It was so much fun to watch him on his birthday!
I have more pictures, but this new blogging system is driving me crazy.  I will have to post more later.

Working hard or hardly working

That is how I feel. I have been poring hours and hours into these photography projects but I feel like I have not gotten very much work done. I enjoy photography and creating. I have learned a lot about photo shop with these projects and even created some joy in the process, but I have not gotten very much work at home done. I guess I can say that all the housework and laundry have been waiting patiently for me to get to them. These projects are just a lot more fun.
This picture is of Willy's family. With a group this large we have not been able to get a family photo for 10 years. I put this picture together for Willy's Mom for her birthday. The whole family! It turned out pretty good and while I am no professional I was proud of my work. I am glad that it worked out so that we could have a family photo in our home. Willy's Mom loved it, thus the Joy!

This one is of Devan's baseball team! He has a great staff of coaches and some really great team mates. I wanted to put together something for the team. I saw something similar to this at the high school and wanted to do my own version.

Anyway, I thought I would share with you what I have been doing the past few weeks!

Happy Birthday Nana!!

To the greatest Mom I have ever had! We want to wish you a very special, Happy Birthday!
For those of you that don't know, we are very luck to have such a great Nana! She does A LOT for all of us. My Mom has made the 4 hour drive to my house 3 times this month alone. She comes to as many of my boys baseball, basketball, and football games as she can and makes special trips to watch my kids while I go off for a weekend with my hubby or to watch Brooklyn's year end dance recital. She is always helping us out with cute clothes for the kids or a fun dinner out. My kids love it when she comes. She takes the time to take them to the movies or to play a board game, or read a book with them. We love you Nana!!! This last weekend was Brooklyn's Dance recital and my Mom made sure to take the time to come and watch. I was glad that Brooklyn did such a great job so that my Mom could see how fun it is to watch her dance. Thanks for all you do for us and all of the effort and time you spend on us. Happy, Happy Birthday.
I am trying to put together a picture of all of my Mom's grand kids for her birthday. I still need to get little Brinley's picture but here is a sneak peek just for you Mom. Love You!

Devan and his team had a great basketball season this year. We started before football even got over in September with practice and we ended with a bang last weekend. I must say as great as it was that I am really glad it is over. It sure was long! This is a picture I put together of his team. They are a really great group of kids!Sam idolizes his brothers and all that they do. One day he pulled me into the laundry room and wanted to be lifted up onto the washing machine. Once I lifted him up he grabbed for Devan's basketball jersey. He wanted to wear it. He thought he was so cool when I put it on him. He wore it around the house all day.
This past weekend was the March Madness tournament. We had played two teams and beat them both by 30 points. As we entered the championship game the boys were looking tired and honestly I think they thought they had the game in the bag. The other team was fired up and ready to go. They led us by 12 nearly the whole game. It was not looking good. With two minutes left to go we were still down by 10. I don't know what got into our boys but they really started to fight. A really great player on our team made at least eight foul shots and with a few seconds left in the game we were tied up. I don't think I could have taken overtime. The game was just too intense. As the clock wound down there were some great passes made and Nathan shot a buzzer beater to win the game! It was really amazing.

Devan's team has won three tournaments this season. They did a great job!

Davis and Willy's birthday celebrations

Willy and Davis have birthday's one day apart. It always seems like we celebrate for days on end. This year was no different. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a great dinner.
Sam loved yelling "hi" from the balcony! Grandma always makes us feel special with a great table decor'

Brooklyn loved the balcony also

Birthday Boy with Gma & Gpa
Everyone enjoying a wonderful meal!
Sammy and Davis chillin' with Gpa. They were watching Curling on the Olympics.

Just after opening all of the birthday gifts.

Nana always makes sure to come up from Salt Lake for the kids birthdays. She told Davis he could do whatever he wanted for his birthday. He decided to go Ice Skating. Yuck! She was a trooper and took the kids ice skating. I watched! Thanks Nana!
Brooklyn was excited to try it out but did not last long. She and I watched Nana and the boys from inside the warm lobby.

The boys had a great time and everyone did a really good job ice skating.

Happy Birthday Willy and Davis!

Hungry?

I'm blogging when I should be getting ready so I will make this fast.... These are the desserts that we made for Davis' basketball birthday party. He invited his whole team to play b-ball and we had pizza and.... hamburgers and french fries. I got this idea from a friend (thanks, Kjerstin). The buns are cupcakes and the patty is a brownie. The fries are made out of sugar cookies and of course ketchup and mustard frosting. A lot of fun to make and pretty yummy!

Here is Davis' team. They had a great season and we are now FINALLY done with Basketball. I say finally because it has been a really long season and now we are on to baseball.

What was I thinking???

Willy asked me tonight as I was looking at every one's blog... "Are you ever going to update your blog?" I was thinking to myself.... "I don't have anything to update about." So I pulled the card out of my camera and realized just how much there was that I had forgotten about.

I walked into Brooklyn's room one day to find this...... I wanted to hurry and grab him out of the doll house but I had the frame of mind to take a picture so that I could always remember how cute he looked all scrunched up in there. He is always trying to climb the stairs and I guess he finally managed to do it.
Last weekend I asked Willy to cut Sam's hair. The next thing I know Willy brings Sam out to the kitchen and puts him up on the counter. Willy says, "I know! I know! I did not do this on purpose. I thought I had the right attachment but I didn't and by the time I figured it out it was too late."
Sam looked like this.....
I of course yelled and screamed and went on and on about how could you do that to my baby and blah blah blah. Willy was mad that I thought he could do it on purpose. It was funny and now we are over it. I will however be growing his hair out.
We have been to A LOT of basket ball games this winter. Not only to watch Devan and Davis play but also to watch nephews and nieces play. On this night we had a lot of family at one game and the three little girls got to play and have a great time together.

This was Brooklyn and Chloe today???????? Goof Balls!!!!!
Super Bowl Sunday a good friend of ours invited us to watch the game at the movie theater he manages. We got to watch the game on the big screen which was cool, but us girls got to go and watch The Tooth Fairy movie. This movie was really cute and way better than the football game. We had tons and tons of yummy food and the kids got to play on the inflatable toys the theater has. We had the whole place to ourselves because the theater is closed on Sunday. We had a great time. I know he looks scared but Sam loved the slide and went down it as many times as someone was willing to carry him up the stairs.

Brooklyn has gotten to perform with her dance team twice. The first time they went to a local nursing home and danced. This was fun and the little girls got a taste of performing in front of a very small audience. Sam had to sit with the girls, he is after all part of everything Brooklyn does. Yesterday they got to perform at the school Willy works at. They had a lot of fun and of course the crowd went wild with cheers. They were cute and did a great job.

Ever since Brooklyn got to go to the local drill team "mini" dance camp she has loved to perform. Here she is cheesing it up and ready to "Dance to the Music"!

Brooklyn and Sam (and Devan and Davis) all love Forts as I am sure most kids do. So we go through "fort fazes" when this is all my kids want to do. I have to give up on the clean house and just let them build forts. I built this one for the kids and it was up for about a week. They loved it and spent a lot of time in it.They especially loved that I put one of our big clunky and very old T.V.'s (I got this TV for Christmas when I was 12) in the fort.

They had a blast watching movies and just hanging out.

So I guess I have a lot more going on than I thought I did. I have to realize that the little things are most often the best things.

More pics

My little Sammy refuses to sit in a high chair. He is much too big for baby things. He likes to be right in the middle of everything and doing just what the big boys do. He is so much fun.Devan had to make a cell for science. We decided on a sugar cookie and candy cell. This was fun and yummy

Sammy got a cute little hair cut. He looked so handsome before church I had to take a picture.
