Merry Christmas to Me.......

So I am really rotten!! I have been complaining about how I need a camera sooooo badly. I keep saying that maybe I would blog more or scrap book more--if I had a decent camera. The camera I have is nice---but a little outdated. We bought it about 4 years ago. Its sad how fast technology changes--how am I supposed to keep on top of things at this rate???? Any how, I was at Costco (my favorite hangout) and saw a Canon Power Shot 12 megapixel camera on sale!! (Now, it s no SLR fancy-schmancy, but it'll be awesome for me.) So what did I do? I bought it for myself, of course!! Christmas is literally days away-but no, I can't wait for Santa. I NEED it NOW!! To justify my spending-- I told Zak we would need to to capture Landon's expression on Christmas morn, when He finally got to see what "Sana Close" brought him!! So Merry Christmas Kelly!! And thanks to Zak for sharing his $100 Costco gift card that he won at his work health fair. Thanks Babe for the GREAT new camera!!

A "Sparklie Merry Chrismeee to You"

For some unknown reason this year, Landon calls Christmas, "Chrismee!" Zak tried to correct him once--but I put a stop to that. I thinks it is absolutely darling how he says it!! It started when I put up our tree. "Mom, that is a beautiful "Chrismee tree, with sparklies (lights) on it!" Every house that we drive past at night---"Ooooo, look sparklies" and "Wow, more sparklies!" You'd think that the novelty of the lights would wear off, but oh no, not for Landon--every house is special to him. I think that by the time Christmas actually comes, Mom might be slightly tired of Christmas lights!!

Friends and Food-My Favorite Things!!

Ladies--
An ode to you gals, who dined at Roosters!! Thank you very much for the afternoon of good eats and great laughs. Don't you agree that it was good to see Stacey, and have so much fun? I love that we don't see each other as regularly as I wish we could--but when we do get together, its like we never missed a day seeing each other. No awkward moments, and we are still so hilarious together. (At least I think so!) And to you girls, who were unable to attend--We missed you dearly and can't wait to see you soon!!

20 things I am THANKFUL for......

I am thankful for SO MANY things/people/places/etc. I decided that I should not use precious work time to list more than 20. So here they are in no particular order:

1. Family (everyone, Muellers/Tanners/Erwins and everyone in between)

2. Health

3. Friends--the ones I've known since birth to those ones I have yet to meet!

4. My HOT HUBBY (put him on the top of the list)

5. A crazy 2 year old named Landon who makes me laugh several times a day

6. Food--let's face it--I am dreaming of turkey and stuffing right now.....

7. Cars-We sold one car and are in search of a new one--I have empathy for one-car families!

8. An almost finished basement--ok, not quite--but it's coming along slow and steady!

9. Ogden, Utah- I love to live here, close to all my family and pals (except a few, I miss alot!)

10. Babysitters--no explantation needed

11. Ohio State Football--Keep winnning, keep my Zak happy to work on the basement!

12. Blogs-I mean really, everyone needs a break from work, right????

13. Shoes. I buy shoes first, then clothes to match the shoes.

14. Haircuts--I am still a regular, every 6 weeks, kind of gal!

15. South Ogden Nature Park--spend several hours a week there since it opened.

16. Girl's Night Out- We ALL need a break sometimes!!

17. Costco--I visit far too often

18. Shopping- I am on the first of 12 steps--"admitting my addiction"

19. A good job, and GREAT employer--Love ya Dad!

20. Indoor Plumbing--where did that come from????

Party Pooper

So I was laughing so hard at my friend Nicole, whos little boy is the same age as Landon, she just blogged about her son JB pooping in the tub this week. I thought to myself, "Boy am I glad that my Landon has never done that!" But to my horror, last night we also experienced poop in the tub. (What are the chances of that happening in the same week???) I stood in the doorway reading a magazine while Landon played in the bath. We had already washed with soap and shampooed his hair. All of the sudden, Landon yells at me to "go way mom, go way!" I am wondering what he is talking about, until I peer down into the tub to see several little poopies floating around! Yikes! What a mess. Well, now I know that my precious little Landon is no better than JB. What stinkers!! I totally jinxed myself when I laughed at Nicole for her poop situation. I learned my lesson the POOPY way!

Fall Fun Photos

We, the Erwin's have had such a fun fall season! I finally have brought some photos to work so that I could post some of them here for you all to enjoy. We've done the trout farm with the Mueller Fam for Labor Day, a trip to Hogle Zoo (just Landon, Zak & myself), pumpkin carving with cousins, spooky dinosaur park, and of course, TRUNK or Treat and Halloween!!

Zak's Pirate Ship--took way too long, but well worth it

Zak the "Pumpkin Carver Extraodinare" --He loves this tradition

Kelly, Landon and Liv at Barker's Trout Farm in North Ogden

Landon caught the first fish of the day!!

We got to see the white alligator about 8 times at Hogle Zoo

Landon loved the "crazy efant" that "spitted water"
Great family time--Just the 3 of us!

Everyone takes this picture, right? Landon wouldn't do it

so I did. He cried that the lion my really bite my head off!

Zak and the "Stunk" and the Dinosaur Park Trick or Treat.
Thanks to Nicole for the good idea. A little crowded. But Landon

was NOT scared of the dark or the huge dinosaurs! More Halloween
photos to come later........I hope!

Say Cheese

So I'm going to brag......

I went to the Cochran's Pumpkin Patch by my house and there was a photographer there taking fall/Halloween pics of darling kids. Her name is Julie Parker and she is super hard to get into and super expensive, BUT her photos are truly amazing! The color in her shots just POP out at you---anyways....She recently posted on her blog some of her favorites from her Pumpkin Patch shoot--and my Landon was one of them!! I am such a proud mama! I purchased 2 sheets of poses from her and they are fabulous. Her site is julieparkerphotography.com. To see Landon's pic and the other cute kids you have to click on her blog link. Here is one of the cutest two year olds around!!

A Conversation with Landon

The other day we were driving up the street from my Mom and Dad's house, on our way home from work. I spotted a HUGE black and white spotted Dalmation dog.......Here was the conversation I had with Landon, (I laughed pretty hard, but you might think I'm dumb)
Me: "Look over there, Landon--what do you see?
Landon: "Where mama?"
Me: "By the side of the road, it's an animal, what kind is it?"
Landon: "Oh, I see it now mama, with my eyes!"
Me: "Well, what is it?"
Landon:"Its a Cow!"
Me: (Laughing) "No its not! But it I'll give you a clue....it says Woof, Woof"
Landon:"Yeah, I told you, that is a cow, look at its spots and it is too big!"
Me: "Are you sure it's not a dog?"
Landon: "Yup, its a cow eating delicious grass."

Take me down to Chinatown

Whilest we visit the beautiful city of Boston, we have now decided to jump on down the the Great city of New York. The cheapest way to get there, I have discovered is to take a luxury tour type bus from the "chinatown" in Boston to the "chinatown" in NYC. I talked tomy darling friend Abbie who happens to be the senior designer for DKNY jeans in NYC about this shady proposition. She said not to be scared--that is should be just fine!! So NYC here I come, I do hope to visit Ground Zero and eat lunch at Carnaghe (SP?) Deli--Maybe my tour guide (Abbie) and clue us in on the Best of NYC in the short time we'll be there. I still have to wait until April........I hope I can wait that long. Do I seem a little anxious about this trip????? You would too if you hadn't been on a kid free trip in several years!!

Me, Run a Marathon????

I'm not running the Boston marathon in April, but I am related to someone who is... (my dad) and that means we are going along to cheer him to the finish line! I am totally pumped!! No kid for 8 whole days!! (I still love you Landon) We just bought CHEAP airfare. $250 round trip! That is a super deal--if you need to fly anywhere--use airfarewatchdog--way good deals!! So wish me luck on my running--no wait, I mean wish Don good luck!!

Blood Sucking Books

Vampires????
So my little sister told me I HAD to read this book---and I am. I'm currently on page 127. I never thought I would be interested in a book about vampires--but really I am totally hooked. I have already ordered books one (to have my own copy) two and three from amazon.com--but I chose "super saver" shipping and the books are going to take forever to get here!! If you want to borrow them from me, I'll be glad to share!! Has everyone else read them already? I'm a little out of the loop when it comes to new books----except Harry Potter of course!

Its a Bird, Its a Plane...Its Kelly!!

Tonight my gal pals and I are going to the Solomon Center in downton Ogden to see the sights, eat our monthly dinner and then Veronica and I are going to try our skills at the indoor sky diving wind tunnel. I really wish some of the other girls would stop acting like wusses and get on board!! (Hint, Hint) I'll let you know how it all turns out!

PS--This adventure hinges on whether or not I can put a shoe on my big, huge swollen foot--I dropped a queen size pine bed on my foot last week!

Bye,Bye Birdie (no, make that binkie)

Well, this momma has the binkie blues! Landon is 2 years and 3 months old, and my little brother decided it was time for him to lose the binkie. So, we did it. I was very addicted to that darn thing! All I had to do was stick the binkie in his mouth and put him to bed!! I loved my life. Well, getting rid of it has not been that hard--in fact, I should feel really lucky. Landon has only asked for it a handful of times--especially at bedtime. He wants his blankie and binkie--but I have to tell him, "Landon is a big boy now, the binkie is gone bye-bye." He has woken up each night once asking for it--but I tell him again and he lays back down and goes to sleep. Naps are harder--he lies awake in bed for almost an hour before going to sleep. I've seen him stick his thumb in his mouth a couple of times---I REALLY hope he doesn't start that because its much harder to take away a thumb!! I thought I was in for weeks for screaming and tantrums when it was time for bed! I wish I'd have been brave enough to do this months ago!!

Hair Inspiration

I don't know whether or not to blog about this. But Victoria Beckham is my haircut inspiration! I just love her new 'do! I cut mine like hers about 4 weeks ago. I love my cut and the gal who does my hair ddid a swell job! I know I don't look anything like "V Beck" (as my Hubby calls her) But a girl can dream can't she?

Happy Haunting

So I feel pretty lame since all my friends have the darling blogs.....guess I better get with the program. I need to take some lessons from Veronica on how to do my page layouts, etc. I bought Landon 2 Halloween costumes--because I can't decide which one he should wear--but we'll keep the other one for next year. Tell me which one you like best!!

"Happeeee Burday to Meeeeee!!!"

So Landon is two. And boy, does he know it! He sings this song daily (even though his birthday was May 20th) I don't have the heart to tell him that his special day is long gone. So we did the annual trip to Kiddie Kandids hoping and praying Landon would hold still long enough for them to get a picture of his cute little two year old face--and surprisingly--they patient gal working there worked a miracle!! Well, at least they are better than I could do. So here they are for your viewing pleasure!!
PS-Stay tuned for our outing to "Day out with Thomas" at the Heber Valley Railroad. Lets just say Landon had the time of his life......

What a SLACKER!!!
Well, I could give you about 2 million excuses about why my blog has sat untouched for several months (too many for me to count), but really I'm just lazy!! But I will say our home computer is out of commission for good and I feel guilty when I do this at work. Oh well. The photos I've added are a variety of things from this spring including Zak and Landon enjoying the "March Madness" all done up for an Ohio State game. Also some pics from a recent trip to St. George with the Mueller side of the family. There is one of Landon touching the "moon" at the children's exhibit at the LDS Church History Museum. Landon is OBSESSED with the moon, if a day goes by without him seeing it or saying goodnight to it---thats all he talks about, "moon, moon, where's da moon?". The pictures I have of Landon are not good--he will not hold still for 1 second (literally). Anyone know about a good digital camera that takes FAST shots? Please let me know, I'm definately in the market for a camera that can keep up with Landon!! Hope this satisfies all those people who were giving me such a hard time about not posting!!
(Really I should say Thanks!!)
