Our 6th Football Season

Football season began more than a month ago... I am not really busy, but it seems like I never have time to get things done - funny how that works, so here is my first blog. Maile is super proud of her dad at the game. She loves looking for him on the sideline and then when she sees him she goes WILD. She plays more than watches, but she stays up until 10:30 on game nights so she can give her dad a hug and a kiss after the game. She is a pretty good football toddler.

I LOVE DUCKS

Maile has seen ducks before, but this time she got REALLY excited. She started to almost hyperventilate after I took this video she was so excited.

Trip to Nebraska

This is Maile's second trip to Nebraska and probably my 25th trip or more. We went to go to my cousin's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and it was fun to see Maile run around where I used to run around as a little kid. She spent time on the farm riding horses, chasing cows, and riding the tractors. She ate corn straight from the cornfield...what a country girl! Anyways, it was good to see my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins... the family is really growing with everyone starting to have kids.

This is Maile's first dance with a BOY caught on tape. It is her cousin, but it is still so sweet. This was at Becky and Miles' wedding reception. Maile loved the band. She would stand right in front of the stage and just stare at them as they sang.
Maile was more entertained watching the horses than trying to ride them. Here is her saying "hi" over and over again to the horses.

Getting Ready in the Morning

They say 'kids grow up so fast.' Here is Maile growing up so fast. She is learning how to brush her own hair, put on her own clothes, and brush her own teeth (kind of!).

Here are some more pictures of the morning:

NO FEAR Maile!

Well, my daughter officially has NO FEAR! Not of me or of anything. She literally runs and jumps in a pool without looking. She climbs up jungle gyms and hangs over the edge of a two story open space. Here is Maile's day while I am in the same room, but I turn my back to maybe pick up something. She is crazy but still the sweetest little thing in the world according to her mom, dad, and grandparents!

Here is Maile climbing into the fridge and getting what she wants (an apple)!

Here is the proof and then I found her looking like this! Guilt written all over her face.

Thank God she sleeps well!

Here are some old and new clips I put together real quick, so all of you that don't get to see Maile often can see how WILD she is. She goes like crazy and then sleeps like a rock!

Dressing Up

Maile is slowly getting into dressing up. She is such a girl! It first started with her digging through my drawers and taking my shirts and she would put them around her neck and wear them around the house. Then she would put anything around her neck including pajamas, underwear, and anything with holes that would fit over her head. Now, she loves shoes and will try and put her shoes on your fit and your shoes on her feet. Her GiGi's makeup bag is her favorite toy. I have no idea who she gets this obsession with, but she is a beautiful little girl. I have posted some pictures of Maile at her first TEA PARTY all dressed up.

Fun in the Sun!

I have not updated our blog in a while. Maile is enjoying her summer. She loves to swim and play in the sun. She is a high-energy little girl with a lot of expressions. Here are some of her famous expressions this summer:

She is a good helper... or maybe she just likes to make a mess and play in the water.

She is already such a teenager with a cell phone in her hand and bossy!

Her belly is about the same size as this volleyball... is that normal?

She takes after her dad and loves anything musical. Here she is learning her first song on the piano.

Maile loves the water and already wants her independence in the pool.

Hawaii Slideshow

This is slideshow of our trip to Hawaii. It is about 15 minutes long. There was just too many pictures of Maile I could not take out. You will also see video of Taylor's helicopter rescue from the ocean. He volunteered to be rescued for a demonstration by the Fire Department about water safety. This was about 30 minutes after they pulled everyone out of the water because of an unconfirmed shark sighting. Yes, I was a little freaked out and they took my husband about 1 mile away and dropped him off, so I did not know where he went for a while. It was a once in a lifetime deal though (or at least I hope so).

Maile in HAWAII

Our family took our first trip with Maile to Hawaii. We visited family and friends and hung out at the beach a lot. Here are some pictures of the trip:

This is a picture of Papa "Aloha" Keahi, Taylor, and Maile before their trip out to the ocean to surf the big waves!

Daddy and Maile coming back from surfing. Maile loved surfing, just like her dad. She pounded on the surf board wanting more! Mom stayed on the shore and prayed.

Maile and Taylor at the North Shore, Hawaii. There was no one at there and we enjoyed having a beach to ourselves, but the waves were a little heavy for us to do too much swimming. Maile was content to just stay ashore and eat sand. It was not a pretty diaper afterwards.

Maile and I (mommy) leaving to go back to Texas. We had a great trip and are excited to go back! We left at 9:30 at night and got home the next day at 1:00 p.m. It was a long plane ride, but we are proud of how well our little lady did with very little room to move. It was her first plane trip and we did it!

Happy 1st Birthday!!

Maile turned ONE on Wednesday of this week. She had her birthday party on Saturday at Grandma Carol and Papa Gary's (captain) house. We heated the pool and had some of our family and friends over to celebrate. Maile loved every minute of it. The crowd of people did not overwhelm her. She climbed up on the bounce house and started bouncing like she has been doing it forever. She is a little thing, but she always surprises me with what she can do. Here are some pictures:
'Hi everyone who could not come. I turned ONE and this is me eating my cake.'

This is Maile sharing her cake with mom.

Papa Gary heated the pool and the forecast predicited rain, but it turned out to be one the best days we had until about 8 p.m. It was a perfect party!!! Thanks papa!

Easter

All Maile got at the Easter egg hunt was one half of an egg. No candy. Oh well! She enjoyed watching the other kids.

Maile loved the Easter bunny. A lot of the other kids were crying and scared, but not our no fear daughter.

Her cousins, Miles and Mason are obsessed with Superman, so we showed them a girl can be super"wo"man, too.

On the Move!

Well... I have not written in a while because Maile has been on the prowl. Before, I could catch up on things and Maile would just "hang out" with me. Now, if I try to work on something else, she is gone in a second and sometimes very hard to find and quite mischevious.
Maile is turning ONE in less than 2 weeks. She has changed so much, yet still the same focused little girl. She is walking and a little sooner than I was ready for. It is nice because now I can set her down if I need to get something...BUT then she is gone. I guess she's got Taylor's speed! Anyways, what you really want is some pictures of her....

This is a picture of her famous sideways walk. It cracks me up!

Taylor has attached a seat on the back of the bike. The deal is... SHE HAS TO WEAR A HELMET!

She is still pretty bald, BUT we try to accessorize so strangers know she is a girl!

Merry Christmas

We enjoyed a blessed Christmas with family and friends. Travis proposed to Gina after we all finished opening presents on Christmas Eve. What a great day to celebrate our Lord's birthday! Here is a video of our sweet Maile during her first Christmas.
